AKOREDE Foundation is a non-profit development charity dedicated to improving the quality of life of people in rural communities by providing access to people, resources, and insights to implementing sustainable development programmes. The Foundation builds the capacity of marginalised communities to drive community-led development, through collaboration with civil society partners, Government, international development agencies, private sector and other stakeholders.
KOREDE is a mobilizer and facilitator of sustainable community projects; we will apply our expertise in mobilising people, resources and support through community organising, volunteering, funding-raising, grant programmes and networks.

The foundation promotes an inclusive approach to development by empowering communities to be at the Centre of their own development. This approach helps in identifying needs, untapped potentials, networks of people, knowledge, skills, and resources required to bring transformation to our communities.
Key approach
Empowerment, Development and Care giver (EDC)
Our inclusive approach to community development proposes building relationships with institutions, Government, private sectors, donor agencies, NGOs and partners to develop and deliver community engagement programmes which mobilizecommunities and get them to be actively involved in their own development. We will build a platform for the exchange of ideas by bringing together experts and indigenes to address the identified community needs and challenges; we will also support the capacity building of community organisers, community leaders and volunteers.
We apply our expertise in getting resources; connecting people, ideas and funding. We aim to work with a strong human and financial base. We raw from the expertise of our volunteer membership, board members and advisors
Empowerment
We believe that building the capacity of local people is integral to fostering development therefore; we will commit to building capacity and providing opportunities for deprived people to enhance their knowledge through training and non-formal education. The foundation organise and facilitate workshops, seminars, coaching, leadership training, mentorship programs, entrepreneurship development, skill acquisition and vocational programme in partnership with institutions, corporate bodies, development agencies and other partners.
Development
At the core of what we do is transforming lives through sustainable development programmes. The Foundation identifies needs, champion and implement community development programs to improve access to education, healthcare, and economic opportunities in rural communities. These initiatives involve local communities in the investment and guidance of programs to address prevailing development challenges in the region. We support initiatives that are sustainable, respond to socio-economic needs and demonstrate potential for growth.
Care Giver
In order to have a deeper understanding of the communities we serve; their needs, challenges and how best to respond, intervene and have the greatest impact, we carry out studies to gather evidence and reliable data to ensure that our programmes are based on evidence and needs of the community.
