WHAT IS BODY ODOUR?
Medically known as bromhidrosis, body odour is a condition in which one's body emits an unpleasant smell. This happens because the apocrine glands secretes sweat that is Rich in protein which is then broken down into acid by bacteria that resides in the skin, causing body odour.
In most cases, this troubling skin care concern occurs on the forehead, armpits, groin, feet, neck, a**s, p***c hair, belly button.
CAUSES:
1. If you take too much alcohol, it can affect the smell of your sweat.
2. If you find yourself excessively drenched in sweat, it could be responsible for the odour you are emitting. More sweat means more protein is secretes.
3. If you ignore washing your bra/boxers often, that's a clear cause of BO
4. If you are stressed about something, it could actually affect the way you smell as stress sweat produced from apocrine glands gives out fouler odour.
5. If you eat plenty of onions, garlic and vegetables, it can affect your BO
6. If you avoid proper scrubbing of your groins, armpits, a**s, it will surely affect the way you smell.
MANAGEMENT OF BO:
1. Use of roll ons
2. Use of anti perspirant deodorant
3. Good personal hygiene
4. Keep your clothes clean
5. Towel off well after shower, paying attention to any areas where you sweat a lot. If your skin is dry, it's harder for bacteria that cause BO to breed and thrive on it.
