Happy Maundy Thursday!

The significance of Jesus washing feet:

In John 13, Jesus Christ did something unexpected. The King knelt down and washed the feet of His disciples. A task usually reserved for the lowest servant.

Why would He do this?

It was a lesson in humility. Greatness in God’s Kingdom is not about status, titles, or being seen. It is about serving others with a pure heart.

It was a picture of love. Jesus knew who would betray Him, yet He still washed their feet. That is unconditional love in action.

It was a call to action. He said, “I have set you an example that you should do as I have done for you.” We are called to serve, forgive, and love, even when it is not easy.

It was also a symbol of spiritual cleansing. Just as feet gather dust, our daily lives expose us to sin and weariness. We need continual cleansing, renewal, and surrender.

Where do you need God to cleanse your heart

True power is found in humility. True leadership is found in service.
