ERROR CODE 27 (Fault and rectification)

Error 27 on a Felicity hybrid inverter (and similar units) signifies a Grid Frequency Fault—meaning the inverter has detected that the utility-supplied electrical frequency (e.g., 50 Hz or 60 Hz) is outside its acceptable range.

🧩 What It Means & Why It Happens

The grid frequency has drifted too low or too high, typically due to:

Grid instability or power quality issues

Temporary mains fluctuations, like surges or under-frequency events

A tripped or faulty breaker, causing loss of proper grid sync

✅ What to Do About It

1. Check AC Protection Devices

Inspect the circuit breaker or RCD feeding the inverter. If it’s tripped or switched off, reset it.

2. Restart the Inverter Properly

Power down in this order: PV/DC → AC → Batteries.

Wait ~1 minute, then power on in reverse: Batteries → AC → PV/DC.

This should clear the grid frequency fault if it was transient.

3. Grid Health Check

If Error 27 recurs, consider measuring your grid’s frequency and voltage. You may need to contact your distribution utility—generally they maintain 50 Hz ±0.5 Hz or 60 Hz ±1% standards.

4. Professional Diagnostic

If the fault persists despite the above steps, reach out to your installer or Felicity Solar support. There might be hardware or controller issues.
