Importance of Adrenal glands and the hormone.

Adrenaline, also called epinephrine, is a naturally occurring hormone and neurotransmitter produced mainly by the adrenal glands (located above the kidneys) and also in small amounts by certain nerve cells in the brain.

It plays a critical role in the body’s “fight-or-flight” response to stress, fear, or danger.

Key Functions of Adrenaline (Epinephrine):
• Increases heart rate → pumps more blood to muscles and vital organs.
• Raises blood pressure → by constricting some blood vessels.
