🚨 Gunmen attacked a wedding celebration in Kahir village on Sunday night, March 29, 2026, killing at least 13 people and abducting several others. However some reports suggest the figure could be as high as 28 abducted persons.

Reports indicate that the attackers arrived in large numbers, heavily armed, and opened fire on guests during the event, causing chaos as people fled for safety.

The incident reportedly occurred around 11:47 p.m., and several victims sustained gunshot injuries. Some were taken to the General Hospital in Kagarko, while critically injured victims were referred to facilities in Kaduna for further treatment.

Eyewitness accounts state that the attackers operated for nearly an hour without resistance and also looted nearby shops, taking food items, provisions, and medical supplies before fleeing.

Security agencies have confirmed the attack and say investigations are ongoing, with efforts underway to track down the perpetrators and determine the full extent of casualties and abductions.

JUST IN 🚨 : Gunmen on Sunday night, 29th March, 2026 attacked Agwan Rukuba community in Jos, Plateau state, killing an unspecified number of residents in a sudden assault that caused widespread panic. Eyewitnesses said the attackers, who arrived on motorcycles, stormed the community around 7:30 p.m. while people were going about their normal activities, firing indiscriminately before fleeing the scene.

As of press time, the exact number of casualties had not been confirmed, as residents were still working to identify the victims.
In the aftermath of the attack, angry youths reportedly blocked roads in the area and attacked commercial tricycle (NAPEP) riders and their passengers, leading to additional casualties.

Troops of Operation Enduring Peace were deployed to the community to restore calm and prevent further escalation. The operation’s spokesperson, Captain Polycarp Oteh, said details of the incident would be provided after a full assessment of the situation.
