#1. UNDERSTAND YOUR GOAL: The Copy Post Objective
Before you even start writing, ask yourself: What exactly do I want my audience to do?
Your copy/post objective might be to:

đ Drive clicks to a website or landing page
đ Increase sales for a product
đ Encourage shares so more people see your message
Example:
If youâre selling an online course, your objective might be, âI want readers to click the link to learn more about the course.â
Tip: Write down your objective in one sentence before you write your copy.
#2. PICK THE RIGHT EMOTION
People make decisions based on emotion first (and justify them with logic later).
Think about what emotion you want your audience to feel:
đ Excitement: âI canât wait to try this!â
đ Curiosity: âWhatâs this all about?â
đ Anticipation: âI need to get in on this now!â
đ Connection: âI really relate to this story.â
Example:
For a fitness program, you might evoke excitement by saying, âImagine feeling energized and confident every day!â
Exercise:
Write down one emotion that matches your objective. If you want clicks, maybe you choose âcuriosityâ or âanticipation.â
#3. CRAFT A POWERFUL HOOK
The hook is the very first line of your copyâit grabs attention and makes people want to read more.
Your hook could be:
đ A before-and-after comparison
đ A personal story (like a confession or an âoopsâ moment)
đ A bold statement that provokes curiosity
Example Hooks:

#4. DELIVER THE PAYOFF
After youâve hooked your reader, itâs time to deliver on the promise you made.
This is where you:
đ Explain what the benefit is (the transformation, result, or outcome)
đ Share a snippet of how itâs achievedâbut hold back the full secret (thatâs for your product or further content!)
Example:
If youâre selling a weight loss program, you might write:
âThree years ago, I struggled with my weight until I discovered a method that helped me lose 30 pounds in just three weeks. Imagine what this could do for you!â
Tip: Use clear, simple language. Avoid jargonâthink of it like explaining something exciting to a friend.
#5. SMOOTHLY TRANSITION TO ACTION
Now that your audience is engaged and knows whatâs in it for them, guide them toward taking the next step. This is your transition.
Example Transition Phrases:

Exercise:
Think of a sentence that naturally leads your reader from your story to your next point (like your call to action).
#6. CREATE A CLEAR CALL TO ACTION (CTA)
Your call to action tells your audience exactly what to do next.
Be direct and, if possible, use time-based language (try âwhenâ instead of âifâ to create a sense of inevitability).
Example CTAs:
đ âWhen you click this link, youâll learn how to lose weight without feeling deprived.â
đ âJoin my free webinar now and be among the first 10 to get an exclusive bonus.â

Tip: Always end your ad copy by clearly telling your audience what the next step is.
#7. BUILD CONTINUITY FOR ONGOING ENGAGEMENT
Finally, give your audience a reason to come back for more. This helps keep them engaged with your brand.
Example:
âStay tuned for tomorrowâs email/post where I reveal the secret ingredient that makes this method work so well!â
Tip: Mention upcoming content or benefits that keep the conversation going beyond just one post.
