CMDA FMC Abeokuta Hosts Financial Intelligence Lecture for Christian Health Workers.

The Christian Medical and Dental Association (CMDA) FMC Abeokuta chapter recently organized a one-day lecture on "Financial Intelligence for Christian Health Workers" at FMC Chapel Abeokuta (Chapel of Grace).

The lecture, delivered by Engineer Abiodun Fijabi, provided valuable insights on financial management, emphasizing budgeting, saving, debt management, and investing.

He encouraged participants to "Dream big, start small" and highlighted the significance of faith in achieving financial stability.

The lecture covered key areas, including budgeting secrets, saving to invest, debt management, and living a balanced life.

Participants were advised to prioritize financial freedom and happiness. A question-and-answer session followed, allowing attendees to engage with the speaker.

Dr. Nathaniel Oni, Chairman Coordinator of the event, commended Engineer Fijabi's expertise and appreciated the attendees, believing they gained valuable knowledge.

*FG PLANS NATIONAL STAKEHOLDERS' DIALOGUE TOWARDS A STABLE POWER SUPPLY IN HEALTH SECTOR*

As a way of ensuring a stable and reliable electricity supply in the health sector, the Federal Ministry of Health and Social Welfare is finalizing arrangements towards the hosting of a National Stakeholders' Summit on the matter.

Billed to hold between September 9th and 10th, the forum is to " leapfrog solutions that will comprehensively address challenge of electricity deficit in the health sector"

The Minister of State for Health and Social Welfare, Dr. Iziak Adekunle Salako dropped this hint in his keynote address at the *Future of Public Health Conference* held at Babcock University, Ilisan Remo, Ogun State.

Represented by the Centre's Acting Medical Director, Dr. A.S Adediran, the Hon. Minister identified *Power in Health Sector* project as one of the key projects of the present administration, designed to " ensure uninterrupted and sustainable power solutions in Nigerian Tertiary facilities through the deployment of alternative energy solutions"

The Minister decried incessant disruptions in public health, manifesting in various forms such as industrial disharmony, epidemic outbreaks and systemic failures with attendant negative consequences on patients .

To arrest the trend, the Minister said his ministry has developed a "National Policy on Health Workforce Migration which has one of its key agenda to make the best use of human resources for health workers who remain in the country by providing them with meaningful incentives and equipment.

" As I speak, the Federal Government is engaging in a collective bargaining conversation with the leadership of NMA, NANNM and JOHESU with a view to improving their salary and welfare" the Minister added.

The Acting Medical Director, Dr. A. S Adediran has lauded the leadership acumen and intellectual pedigree of the Board Chairman, Dr. Dayo Israel describing him as the "Right man for the right job at the right time"

Reacting to his announcement for the new position, Dr. Adediran hailed the Chairman's palpable determination to change the narratives of the Centre in no distant future.

BOARD CHAIRMAN OFFICIALLY ANNOUNCE DR. A.S ADEDIRAN AS ACTING MEDICAL DIRECTOR

The Chairman, Board of Hospital Management, Dr. Dayo Israel has announced the Head of Clinical Services Dr. Saheed Adekunle Adediran as the Acting Medical Director for the Centre.

The Chairman made the announcement at a meeting with Heads of Department this afternoon.

According to the Chairman, Dr Adediran had served as the number two man in the former administration and hoped, with his wealth of experience, will discharge the responsibility of the new office effectively.

" We have confidence in his capacity to manage the Centre effectively pending the conclusion of the process towards the appointment of a substantive Medical Director"

Responding, the Acting Medical Director pledged his continued allegiance and dedication to the pursuit of all- round growth and development of the Centre.

" I can assure you that I will serve you devotedly and diligently. I will maintain an open-door policy"

He sued for peace and brotherly love among staff.

The Muslim Community of the Federal Medical Centre, Abeokuta (FMCA) on Friday 30th June, celebrated the Islamic Icon, Prof Abdus-Samiu Adewale Musa-Olomu, the out-gone Medical Director.

Muslim leaders, hospital management committee members, staff, family members , friends, and well-wishers attended the exaugural lecture held at the Telemedicine Hall of the centre.

The event was a testament to Prof. Musa-Olomu's remarkable leadership and contributions to the institution during his tenure.

The Ameer of the FMCA Muslim Community Dr. Sulaiman Anoba, in his welcome address, underscored the spiritual weight of leadership in Islam.

“Leadership is a delicate trust. The Prophet (peace be upon him) warned that it could be a source of humiliation on the Day of Judgment if mishandled,” he said, while commending Prof. Musa-Olomu for being a “just leader” and an example to follow.

"Prof. & Ustaz Abdus-samiu Adewale Musa-Olomu, we all gathered here today to thank Allah for gifting us, the Muslim community and FMCA at large, a person like you.

"Many things have been said about you; many things Allah has made you achieve in this facility, and many more will still be said. You are not just an administrator; you are a leader, a man endowed with spiritual depth, unwavering determination, and intellectual brilliance that shines even in the darkest moments of uncertainty.

"Your legacy is built on tireless work, sincere devotion, and a vision that refuses to bow to mediocrity.

" Within the 8 years of your stewardship, what you have built, what you restored, and what you re-imagined have left footprints that time will struggle to erase."

The guest lecturer, Prof. Abdul Hafiz Oladosu, praised Prof. Musa-Olomu's legacy of excellence, integrity, and spiritual discipline.
