According to our CEO Solomon Oyeniran Program Organizing Chairman (POC)/Local Organizing Chairman (LOC), in his address, spoke on the Theme and Sub-Themes as it impacts AgriFood Systems transformation curated for inclusivity, equitable opportunities and resources for National Growth and Development.

Theme: Hand in Hand for Better Foods and a Better Future -

Reiterates on collaboration to transform Nigeria's Agrifood Systems and ensure food security for all with emphasis on Better Food Production, Improved Nutrition in a Better Environment with the outcome of a Better Life in order to build a just and climate resilient food systems that address inequalities and minimize food loss and damage. However, without an entrepreneurship mindset and culture developed through supportive environment, adequate finance and infrastructure investments in the food systems, we may continue to rely on import consumption - Solomon pointed.

That brought about the two (2) Sub-Themes.
1. Innovative Startups - Harnessing Entrepreneurship as a Tool for Sustainable Food Systems.

World Food Safety Day 2025, was celebrated in collaboration with the Federal Ministry of Health Nigeria in a multidisciplinary approach through community engagement as intervention to improve food safety culture for micro, small and medium enterprise (MSME) vendors.
We defined the challenges in terms of behaviors.
We diagnosed barriers and enablers to target behaviors.
We designed strategies to influence behaviors.

We celebrated World Food Safety Day 2025 in collaboration with Federal Ministry of Health Nigeria Federal Ministry of Health and Social Welfare Abuja, National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC), Lagos State Ministry of Health, Lagos State Environmental Protection Agency (LASEPA), Lagos State Safety Commission, Lagos State Waste Management Agency (LAWMA), Nigeria Association of Small and Medium Enterprise of Nigeria (NASME), Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs), Private Organizations, Faith Based Organizations (FBOs), and other collaborating Organizations.

We also celebrated Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises Day (MSMEs) as adopted by the UN General Assembly on 6 April, 2017, UNIDO - United Nations Industrial Development Organization recognizing the need to focus on MSMEs in achieving Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), in particular in promoting innovation, creativity and decent work for all.
Recognizing also in formalization, participation and growth, of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs), in international, regional and national markets including through access for all to capacity building, financial services such as affordable micro finance and credits.
Recognizing further the need for sustainable business practices and the importance of principles for responsible business and investing.
This is to safeguard consumer health through availability of safe, nutritious and healthy foods as well as correct and improve unsafe practices embarked upon by micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs), operating in the food supply chain, while supporting sustainable food security in Lagos State (20 Local Government Areas and 37 Local Community Development Areas).
