*Psalm 34: Beyond Condemnation*

Psalm 34:21-22 Evil shall slay the wicked, And those who hate the righteous shall be condemned. The Lord redeems the soul of His servants, And none of those who trust in Him shall be condemned.

Paul the Apostle declared that, There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit (Romans 8:1). The present nature of this promise gives it a huge translational significance. The righteous is beyond condemnation i.e he cannot be condemned. The very moment that righteousness was imputed upon him, was the very moment that he received authority over condemnation. Those voices and accusing fingers that used to speak and point against the righteous, can no longer exercise its judgemental power over him.

Condemnation is the punishment that comes at the throne of judgement. Whoever that is condemned by God is eternally condemned and cannot be rescued or redeemed by any man. Whoever the Lord has imputed His righteousness upon is saved from eternal condemnation. You cannot trust God and believe in Him and still be condemned. You cannot profess the Lordship of Chris Jesus over your life and still be nursing the guilt of condemnation. “He who believes in Him is not condemned; but he who does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God (John 3:18).

Even before the immaculate conception, the Psalmist has already gained insight into how the Trinity operates. The Psalmist declares that those who trust in the Lord cannot be condemned, but those who hate the righteous and does evil shall be condemned. Wickedness will beget evil and evil will attract condemnation. This is the reason why many wicked souls will always receive a dose of condemnation. The condemnation of the wicked is not a function of a judgement that is passed by someone. Condemnation comes when your paths drips with an unrepentant evil.

Child of God, there is no condemnation that has been placed on you. Jesus does not condemn whosoever that comes to him in sincerity, simplicity and total faith. Just the same way the Lord looks upon us with an eye of mercy, we must never be quick in condemning others. We must consciously take a decision to abhor evil and wickedness because they are the precursor for a condemned life. Always remember that there is a condemnation for those who act wickedly with evil intentions. But for those who love and trust God, have ascended beyond condemnation. Hallelujah.

*Confession:* By the power in the name of Jesus, I declare boldly that I am beyond condemnation. There is no judgement of condemnation against me and my family. All those who wished me evil and wickedness will be taken up by the wind of condemnation. Those who plan and execute evil schemes targeted against me, will receive a greater dose of such condemnation. Thank You Father, Amen.

*Psalm 34: Unbroken (2)*

Psalm 34:20 He guards all his bones; Not one of them is broken.

As I set my mind on this Psalm again this morning, the Holy Spirit inspired me to encourage a reader to keep his/her mind on this promise. Child of God, none of your bones will be broken because God has declared it to be so. There is no affliction that can shatter your bones when God is on your side. This is the reason why we must draw close to God. Our Master Jesus told Peter the disciple that the devil wants to sift him like wheat, but He assured him that He has prayed for him to be strengthened above satanic sifting. Any affliction that has the ability to disconnect your relationship with God, will lead to the shattering of your bones.

Haven't you observed that there is a break/broke terminology that is associated with different aspects of life? This is why you must refuse to allow the weapon of afflictions to break you. First, when someone is hit with an affliction of frustration, hindrances, failures and depression, the person will say to himself or herself, I have reached my breaking point. Secondly, when satanic afflictions enter into marriages and it become toxic, the home is no longer a safe haven. Every member of the house will go on their separate ways. Infact, the easiest terminology to describe a failed marriage is called a broken home. When people severe their ties and bonds, it is called a break up.

Thirdly, when satanic afflictions enter into the economic and financial life, business, careers, enterprise etc, the purpose of the afflictions is to break and shatter the economic and financial strength. When people then suffer from the poor financial life and inability to meet up with everyday demands of life, they become broke. Fourthly, the heart is a delicate soft organ that is made of flesh and blood vessels. When people suffer satanic afflictions in their relationships, we say they suffer from broken heart or heartbreak or emotional breakdown. Think about it for a moment, although the heart is made of flesh, we don't call it heart tear but heartbreak. This is because as long as it comes as an affliction, the purpose is to break you.

The Holy Spirit is reminding you today to be vigilant and determined. Don't allow any satanic affliction in the form of frustration to lead you to a breaking point in life. Don't allow satanic affliction into your home to give you a broken home. Don't allow satanic afflictions into your financial life to render you broke. Infact, refuse vehemently to be broke. Don't allow satanic afflictions to rip off your heart and leave you with an emotional breakdown and heartbreak. Remember God's complete promise for you says: "Many are the afflictions of the righteous, But the Lord delivers him out of them all. He guards all his bones; not one of them is broken." With Yahweh on your side, you cannot and will not be broken. Shalom.

*Confession:* I declare boldly that any afflictions that will break my bones has not been made, can not be made and will never be made. I will never be a product of a broken home. I will never be broke financially neither will my heart and emotions be broken. Every framework that God has designed for me is unbreakable no matter the intensity of the pressure. Thank You Father. Psalm 34:20 He guards all his bones; Not one of them is broken.

The purpose of the satanic affliction that is targeted at you is to break you. But the Lord's plan for you is to guard you and keep you unbroken. The Psalmist says, "He keeps all his bones, not one of them is broken." This Psalm is a fulfilment of the messianic prophecies of Christ. Even when the enemies crucified him on the cross, with nail pierced hands and feet, and with a spear that pierced through his sides, it was accounted to him that none of his bones was broken. Even when his body was buried, after three days, the body resurrected without decay. None of the members were decomposed. He was completely delivered without any form of loss.

In times of affliction, the Lord is committed to guarding all the bones of the righteous. Whatever the Lord guards cannot be broken or destroyed. It is important and encouraging to learn that the Lord guards all our bones from the biggest to the least. This is not about our literal bones but the framework of our lives. Every system that sustains our livelihood is guarded by God and He will not allow the waves of afflictions to break any of it. This is why a believer's confidence in an affliction is unshaken because affliction cannot break or stop your God given purpose.

Yes, afflictions cannot break your bones, no matter how hard they hit you. I have seen many lives being afflicted with strange ailments, yet the Lord did not permit them to be broken. I have seen many struggling businesses and careers because of affliction, yet the believer is still standing. I have seen many marriages and families passed through deep and troubled waters of afflictions, yet the marriage is still standing because God did not permit the marital bone to break. There are many ministries and ministers who are bearing marks of afflictions and they are still standing, because with God, their bones cannot be broken.

The Lord will not suffer the righteous to be moved. And He knows how to restore the righteous back to his fold. When Job suffered a strange wave of satanic afflictions, one would conclude that he is completely down and out. This is because, everything that mattered to him apart from his life was lost. Because God's promises cannot be broken, the conclusion about the story of Job, revealed that the latter days of Job was more glorious than the former. One can say, that his bones were not broken despite the magnitude of his affliction. Friends, that affliction cannot break you. God has already declared over you: that none of your bones will be broken. Believe and operate on this word by faith. You will come out victorious. Hallelujah.

*Confession:* I affirm God's word over my life that I am unbroken by any form of satanic afflictions. The Lord is actively involved in all that concerns me. My career cannot be broken by afflictions. My marriage and relationship cannot be destroyed by satanic afflictions. My life and ministry cannot be truncated by afflictions. The Lord is in charge of my bones. Nothing will break, nothing will miss. Thank You Father, Amen.

*Psalm 34: Many Afflictions, Total Deliverance (3)*

Psalm 34:19-20 Many are the afflictions of the righteous, But the Lord delivers him out of them all. He guards all his bones; Not one of them is broken.

Ever needed a word to renew your hope in God in the middle of your trials and challenges? Hear his word for you today: "Many are the afflictions of the righteous, But the Lord delivers him out of them all. He guards all his bones; Not one of them is broken." You can always bank on this word in the time of trials and tribulations and the outcome is sure. No satanic affliction can swallow up the righteous. It is totally against God's order. Even when it comes to death, the grave will vomit the dead back to life. Jesus expressly declared it about Lazarus that this sickness is not unto death.

As a Pastor, I have encountered many testimonies that has validated this word. There was a woman who had a strange affliction in her health. The manifestation started like a common disease which was easily managed with some medications. But with time, it developed into what the Physicians could not have any knowledge about. She was in pains and torments with multiple organs being affected. One confession that was readily available on her lips was: "Many are the afflictions of the righteous, But the Lord delivers him out of them all. He guards all his bones; Not one of them is broken." Today, her healing and restoration is perfected.

I have also encountered someone who had a strange affliction in his place of work. He was at the verge of getting married. He was even believing God for more funds to finance his wedding. To the shock of his life, an enemy in his place of work has conspired with the authority, with malicious fabrications against him. He lost the job instantly. In his loss, one confession that was constant in his mouth was: "Many are the afflictions of the righteous, But the Lord delivers him out of them all. He guards all his bones; Not one of them is broken." Just immediately after his wedding, he was restored at his workplace and paid even the months that he never showed up at work.

God is still bringing total deliverance to all those who are afflicted with varying afflictions. You must stir up your faith to walk in it. Afflictions do not remain forever. They have their expiring dates. Don't define your life by the manifestation of the present affliction around you. Define yourself by your God given purpose and destiny. Don't forget God's word for you when afflictions want to blind your vision and mute your mouth. Stir up yourself and keep declaring: "Many are the afflictions of the righteous, But the Lord delivers him out of them all. He guards all his bones; Not one of them is broken." You will obtain your total deliverance from afflictions in this season. Shalom.

*Confession:* The Lord has totally delivered me from the afflictions of strange sicknesses and diseases. The Lord has delivered me completely from the afflictions of witchcraft manipulation and occultic men. The Lord has delivered me from the malicious fabrications and conspiracy of men. When troubles and enemies come like a flood, the Lord will raise a standard above them. Thank You Father, Hallelujah.

Psalm 34:19-20 Many are the afflictions of the righteous, But the Lord delivers him out of them all. He guards all his bones; Not one of them is broken.

There is a difference between when God rescues you from afflictions and when you recover from it naturally or through ungodly means. The difference is seen in the restoration. Afflictions come like a storm. After its escapade, the environment does not remain the same again. This is the purpose of many afflictions that come into the life of a believer. The Lord does not allow afflictions to alter our essence of living but He ensures that the believer is totally delivered from them all, and that the bones are kept intact and prevented from breaking.

At a very early age, Joseph suffered from an affliction that was life threatening and destiny destroying. The very first attempt that was made by his brothers was to afflict him with death just because they were envious of his dreams (not even his present reality/status). After keeping him in a dried dark pit to die (to cut off his life), they had a rethink and launch another mission to truncate his destiny. They brought him out of the pit and sold him into slavery for few shekels of silver.

The afflictions took a new dimension when he was sold as a steward to serve in the court of Pharaoh. Another life threatening affliction came to him because the master's wife falsely accused him of r**e. This offense was punishable with death. In this case, due to the status of his master's family, Joseph could have been sentenced to death and executed without trial or appeal because the Master's wife has her evidence. He was however kept in the prison.

In all these seasons of his afflictions, God had a way of bringing him out of them all. First, God delivered him from the pit of death by bringing the Ishmaelites across the path. When he was sold into slavery, God brought him into a family that will be instrumental in his rising. When he was kept in the prison, God used the dream of Pharaoh to bring him out of the prison. In all his afflictions, God brought him deliverance. His bone was not broken, neither was his dreamed destiny shattered. He came out as the prime minister in Egypt and saved the world in the time of famine. His family that fought his dream, came and fulfilled his dream.

Many afflictions, total deliverance. This is the promise of God to us. Don't allow the shape or size of the afflictions to change your perception about God and His promises. When you are in the middle of an affliction, you might not look like the destiny that God has promised you. Joseph in the pit and prison was totally the opposite of a shinning star in the sky. Yet God delivered him out of the pit and prison and restored him to the sky to shine as a star. Keep your focus on your destination. God will take you to your destination. Shalom.

*Prayer:* Precious Father, thank you for your deliverance over my life. I know you are able to deliver me from every affliction that has been programed to end my life or destroy my destiny. I know you will bring every member of my body out of the afflictions unhurt and unbroken. With you on my side, I know I will get to my desired end despite what comes my way. Thank You Father, Amen.

This is one of the most popular Psalms that is quoted to inspire a message of hope for believers who are passing through some difficult season in their lives. I have quoted this passage more often than not, either for myself or when I am praying for someone who is believing God for an escape from afflictions. The Psalmist made it clear that the fact that you are righteous, is not a fireproof against afflictions. Affliction is a general occurrence in life. It happens to both the righteous and the ungodly. The use of the adjective "many" to quantify the afflictions of the righteous shows the susceptibility of the righteous to afflictions.

The path of the righteous is filed with ferocious attacks. There are diverse kinds of attacks that comes from within and without. These afflictions come from different people and different places. You cannot be a righteous man and not experience afflictions. Even Jesus himself was not shielded from the experience of afflictions. His disciples and Apostles also had their varying shares of afflictions. The Prophets of old, also had many afflictions. The Psalmist, passed through several afflictions and he can confidently declare to us today, that many afflictions can come on the way of the righteous but the Lord will deliver him from them all.

Always remember that the fact that you are a believer is already a reason for someone to declare war against you. This is the reason why we encourage every believer to be battle ready. When you decide to be a follower of Christ Jesus, you are enlisted into the heavenly army. No soldier goes into the battle field without anticipating an attack from the enemies. This is why the believer must be alert and sensitive to the attacks from the enemies. The attack can come physically through people who will always sound offensive to you. It can come spiritually through occultic witchcraft and manipulations of familiar spirits. It can come economically through attacks on your means of livelihood. It can come through relationship by hindering marriages, family and friendship.

In whatever form the afflictions may choose to express itself, the Lord has given us the assurance that, He will deliver the righteous from them all. When many afflictions come, many deliverances will also abound. The believer must be assured that God can bring him out of any afflictions. Whatever is the intensity or size of the afflictions in your life today, God's deliverance is also available for you. Hold on to God's promise that says: He will deliver you from all of them. God will not grant you a partial deliverance but a total deliverance from them all. You will surely come out of it successfully. Shalom.

*Confession:* I declare boldly that when many afflictions come into my way, the Lord will surely deliver me and my family out of them all. The Lord will guard all my bones and everything that is connected to me; Not one of them will be broken. The hand of the Lord will ensure my total deliverance from the paths of afflictions. My testimony is already guaranteed to the praise of the Lord. Hallelujah.

*Psalm 34: God's Standard for Relationship*

Psalm 34:17-18 The righteous cry out, and the Lord hears, And delivers them out of all their troubles. The Lord is near to those who have a broken heart, And saves such as have a contrite spirit.

When we are born again, we are born into the family of God. We become heirs of God's kingdom and coheir with Christ. Our salvation was freely given to us by the completed work of Christ on the cross. However, the saving grace does not become a license for careless living. When we become born again, we are called and drawn into a relationship with God. In order for one to enjoy benefits in this godly relationship, one must operate with God's standards for relationship.

Godly relationship requires right living. You cannot be in a beneficial relationship with God when your lifestyle says contrary. Many people who claim to be born again still hide under the excuse of their weaknesses and culture to defend their negative lifestyle. This is why many believers still imbibe in alcoholism, immorality, theft and social vices and justify their acts by saying that they have been made righteous by grace. The Lord is committed to answering the cries of the righteous. This implies that those who act and live rightly with God and their fellow humans, will enjoy God's relationship.

Another standard that attract God's commitment to relating with the believers is those with a broken spirit and a contrite heart. The audacity of this age has relegated the place of brokenness in spirit and contrite heart. People no longer feel remorseful about their wrongdoings against God and humans. People no longer feel the pain and brunt of their wrong acts. Many people can behave offensively and walk away without a second thought of their wrong actions. This is the reason behind many unrepentant behaviours.

It has become so awkward such that people can make blasphemous statements against God and His Church even in the congregation of the saints, and people will laugh without any sense of remorse. Yet they expect the Lord to come to their aid whenever they cry. The Psalmist says, it doesn't work that way. The Lord is near to those who have a broken heart, And saves such as have a contrite spirit. The sacrifices that the Lord will never despise are those from a broken spirit and a pure and contrite heart.

God's standard for a beneficial relationship must not be lowered. Firstly, Righteousness is still a key. When Christ has declared you to be righteous, it is expected and demanded that you live rightly with God and also with man. Secondly, the Holy Spirit must be able to break your heart and make you repent remorsefully by turning the right way. The benefits include: the Lord will hear your cry. Moreso, He will always be close to you, and ultimately, the Lord will save you. May you enjoy the benefits of your relationship with God. Amen.

*Prayer:* Precious Father, thank you for your gift of salvation in my life. By your grace, I receive the enablement to walk rightly with you and my fellow men. By the prompting of the Holy Spirit, I receive a repentant heart and a contrite heart. Let my heart be broken by whatever break your heart. Cause me to make repentance when my weaknesses are exposed. Thank You Father, Amen.

*Psalm 34: God's Eyes: Different Work*

Psalm 34:15-16 The eyes of the Lord are on the righteous, And His ears are open to their cry. The face of the Lord is against those who do evil, To cut off the remembrance of them from the earth.

When your knowledge about God is tilted towards one direction, then you don't truly know God. This is the misconception about the "grace movement" where they have overblown the message of grace beyond it's original context. Until we have reached a balanced perspective about God, only then we can we claim to have known Him. Whenever I study the attributes of God, one will discover that there is a balance in the nature and operation of God. God is invisible yet He reveals Himself from time to time. God is love and full of mercy, and also, God expresses His wrath on the children of disobedience.

In today's devotional passage, the Psalmist made reference to the face and eyes of God. The reference was made to two different context and the result was also different. In the first instance, the eyes and ears of the Lord are intently fixed on the righteous to meet the demands of the righteous without delay. In the second instance, the face of the Lord is on the ungodly and workers of iniquities. This is to ensure that they are wiped out from the memory of life. This is what I called: the same God, the same face but different works. The same face that was gracious to the righteous, will also bring condemnation to the ungodly.

We should never take God's gracious attributes towards us for granted. When the family of Lot was trapped in S***m and Gomorrah and the Lord needed to vent His wrath on the wicked land, out of love and mercy, the family of Lot was saved and spared by grace. As they were moving out of the land of S***m and Gomorrah, the Angel instructed them to keep straight and not to look back. On their way out of the destruction, the wife of Lot looked back and she immediately turned into a pillar of salt. The same eyes that looked upon them with mercy and love such that it brought salvation, also unleashed its wrath on the disobedience of
Lot's wife.

Friends, we must grow and mature to know God holistically. Whenever I read John 3, I don't just quote verse 16 without taking it to verse 18 or 19 to get the balanced perspective about God's plan of salvation and those who reject salvation. It says: For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved. “He who believes in Him is not condemned; but he who does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God (John 3:16-18). Know God today and understand what God can do. Shalom.

*Prayer:* Precious Father, shine your eyes of favour, mercy and grace upon me. Hear my cry and respond to the petitions of my heart. Do not look upon me with your eyes of wrath and condemnation. Don't turn your face of judgement on me. Let the righteous keeps enjoying your eyes of favour. Let the ungodly receive the wrath of your countenance. Thank You Father, Amen.

*Psalm 34: Secret To A Good Long Life (5)*

Psalm 34:12-14 Who is the man who desires life, And loves many days, that he may see good? Keep your tongue from evil, And your lips from speaking deceit. Depart from evil and do good; Seek peace and pursue it.

The last secret shared by the Psalmist on how to live good long life is the desire and pursuit of peace. Peace is an important recipe for healthy living. Peace is more than quietness. It is the state of the soul that brings total calmness, rest and stillness. Peace is one of the fruits of the Holy Spirit. It is one of the evidences that the Spirit of God is functioning in your life. When peace is absent in a life, it becomes miserable. Lack of peace can cut short a life. Infact, when people become restless due to lack of or absence of peace, some can commit su***de and terminate their own lives in misery.

A life that is devoid of peace cannot see the good in life. This is because, it is constantly living in torment. It is the presence of peace that brings the experience of goodness in one's life. When peace is absent in a family, it kills the marriage faster than one can imagine. When a husband is not finding peace in his home, his desire to return home is hindered. When children no longer experience peace in their homes, they become cold and suffer from mental breakdown. In the absence of peace, it appears like everything about life becomes meaningless. When people say that life is good, it is a reflection of the level of peace that is available in their lives.

One of the factors that affect natural peace is war. War is a destroyer of peace. War is also a destroyer of the good in the land. When a nation is at war, the primary target is the good zones that are filled with good things. War brings destruction on the good things of life. The ultimate effect of war is that it destroys life untimely. In wars, most parents bury their children. The greatest impacts of war is felt after the war because the peace that has been altered cannot be retained immediately. This is why most people though they have survived the war outside, the battle for peace in their soul becomes a major challenge.

As believers, we must be lovers of peace and pursuers of peace. We must know that peace is related to good long life. The presence of peace will ignite the desire for a longer and better life. The absence of people will make one to become an enemy of oneself. The peace that the believer needs is a wholesome peace that is above the presence of absence of wars. It is a peace that is not given by man and cannot be taken by him. It is more than a peace that is connected with situations and circumstances. It is a peace that transcends above human wisdom, knowledge and understanding. This is the peace that makes life sweet, good and long. It is the peace of the Holy Spirit. Remember, Jesus is the Prince of Peace. With Him, you will experience an absolute peace in life. Shalom.

*Prayer:* Father of Peace, I need your wholesome peace in my life and family. Rescue my mind from the raging tempest of wars and situations that is destroying the peace in my soul. Let destroyers of peace be far away from my life and residence. Cause me to dwell in abundance of peace. Let the peace of the Holy Spirit saturate my mind, heart, body and spirit. I will live a good long life in the abundance of peace. Thank You Father, Amen.
