Finding relief in the little things. ✨

If you’re dealing with that lingering post-delivery backache or incision discomfort, don't overlook the power of a simple hot water bottle.

My Top Tips:

Use warm (not boiling) water.

Always use a soft cover or towel.

15-20 minutes is the sweet spot!

What was the first REAL MEAL you had OR will have after giving birth?

Stop thinking about "shrinking" and start thinking about "repairing." 🧱❤️

Your body just ran a 9 month marathon and then finished with a grand finale. You wouldn't expect an athlete to fast after a race, so why do we do it new mamas?

The fourth trimester is a state of "depletion." To get your energy back and help your skin, muscles, and organs heal, focus on these three:

1️⃣ Bone Broth: It’s packed with amino acids and collagen. Think of it as "liquid gold" for repairing your pelvic floor and abdominal tissues.☕

2️⃣ Avocados & Nuts: Your hormones are crashing and rebuilding. Healthy fats are the building blocks your body needs to stabilize your mood and keep you full. 🥑

3️⃣ Warm, Soft Foods: In many traditional cultures, "warm" food is the rule. Think soups, stews, rice, yam and oatmeal. They are easier for your body to digest while your system is still sluggish post-birth. 🥣

What was the first "REAL MEAL" you had OR will have after giving birth? (Mine was chicken pepper soup and rice) 🍉🍚🥣🍛🍲🍏🍌

STANDING IN THE LIGHT OF ANOTHER YEAR WITH A HEART FULL OF THANKS ✨

Through every season, high and low,
I’ve watched the seeds of purpose grow.

With every lesson, sharp or sweet,
The path is firm beneath my feet.

I’m grateful for the breath of life,
The strength that carries through the strife,
For grace that met me in the dark,
And turned a glimmer to a spark.

I step into this brand new year,
With quiet faith and vision clear.

Not just for years added to my days,
But for the growth in all my ways.

So here’s to life, to health, to peace,
To blessings that will never cease.
A grateful heart, a soul set free

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME. 🥂

Question and Answer Section

The "bounce back" process after delivery often referred to as the postpartum period or the "fourth trimester" is a gradual journey that varies significantly for everyone. While the most acute recovery happens in the first six weeks, full physiological and emotional healing often takes much longer.

The Recovery Timeline
📌The First 6 Weeks (Acute Recovery)
This is the standard window for initial healing. During this time:

The Uterus: It takes about six weeks for the uterus to return to its pre-pregnancy size (a process called involution).

Healing: Incisions from a C-section or perineal tears undergo the most significant healing during this stage.
Lochia: Postpartum bleeding typically tapers off within 4 to 6 weeks.

📌3 to 6 Months (The Adjustment Phase)
Hormonal Shift: Estrogen and progesterone levels begin to stabilize, though breastfeeding can keep these levels altered.

Hair and Skin: Many experience "postpartum shedding" around the 3-month mark as hormone levels drop.

Core Strength: If you experienced diastasis recti (separation of the abdominal muscles), this is often when focused rehabilitation shows the most progress.

📌6 to 12 Months (Full Restoration)
Research increasingly suggests that a full recovery encompassing bone density, metabolic rate, and emotional health—can take up to a year.

Physical Activity: Most people can return to high-impact exercise by this point, provided they have rebuilt their pelvic floor strength.

Sleep and Mood: As infant sleep patterns stabilize, many parents find their cognitive function and energy levels finally returning to a "new normal."

Read this if you feel like you’re "failing" at the fourth trimester. ✍️

Society puts so much pressure on us to be "super-moms" the moment we get home from the hospital. We think we have to have a clean house, a smiling face for guests, and a body that looks like it didn’t just grow a whole human.

But here’s the clinical truth:

Recovery is your only job right now.
If that means:
✨ The laundry stays in the dryer for 2 days...🤫
✨ You tell your bestie "not today" for a visit...🙏
✨ You wear your maternity leggings for the next 6 months... 😍
..Then you are doing it RIGHT. Your nervous system needs peace to heal, and your baby needs a mama who isn't burnt out.

Which "rule" are you breaking today to protect your peace? Let’s normalize the messy, slow recovery in the comments! 👇
