Reunited with my beautiful sister at last. Spanish tapas in… The Hague. 🥰 It’s definitely a lot cooler here but that’s not held us back from strength training and walks into the forest with her English Springer hunting Spaniel.

One of my four sisters has recently published a book for children aged 8-12 years, set along the north Cornwall and Devonshire coastline in England.

I’m so proud of her, especiallly because she is so talented and I adore that she sets her stories in this atmospheric, stunning and misty part of the British Isles.

In fact, I once lived there, and I spent many days walking these very cliffs with my first child in a sling attached snugly to me. Alhough isolated at times, with long rainy days ahead of us, it was a beautiful setting. So calming for the soul.

The swirling pattern of this hydraulic floor in the room where I sleep seems playful and happy to my mind! It reminds me of my daughter’s arms swirling around my waist as we commit to our three legged style walk, heading home from school and I spend a moment to think how fascinating and fabulous life is.

This week, in Barcelona, Camilla is buying materials for a French armchair upholstery project and she's on a quest to find the right paint colours for future restoration work at the Magical Modernist Mansion. It was definitely a day of discovery!

I had intended this week’s vlog to be short, having been away and enjoying the Hague but now I can see that’s not the case at all! And it’s good! Be prepared for tears early on as we hear the heart rendering story of Pavlo, an artist who produced sculptures from sea rock of the Crimea, at a time of peace in Ukraine. We also get to visit Vanessa’s Interior Design studio at the incredible De Twee Pauwen art gallery just a few yards from the palace of the king and queen of The Netherlands, not to mention discovering some fine antiques, wine and cocktails in Holland! And to complete today’s vlog, we are at last back at the Magical Modernist Mansion with Ollie to enjoy the delights of the Fiesta Major of Sant Pere de Ribes.
