Ah, this has been one of my favs for a while. To me, it points towards the obviousness of human potential that makes it somehow hard to challenge. And yet it also carries some dark, potentially oppressive, undertones if swallowed whole, without paying attention to personās situation.
What if (given your situation) whatās natural for you is (self/other) annihilation? What if, what comes with most ease is being in an abusive environment, as this is what youāve always known as home, as safe?
This is where, there is perhaps some confusion between oneās needs and what feels natural- what one is used to. If youāve spent a while, or a lifetime, or even a few lifetimes transgenerationally, not really being in touch with your needs, ādo what comes naturallyā, as benign as it might sound, can indeed kick you in the š.
What this leaves me with today is an invitation to notice, playing, as much as you can, as a kind, curious and above all clueless stranger getting to meet yourself: how do I experience that which feels (or should feel) natural? As if you are genuinly meeting yourself for the fist time. Of course, this is not possible, but it can be a fruitful experiment to attempt it; pay attention to situations that feel (un)natural: what qualities do they have? What happens in your body as you are in them? What, perhaps new or slightly different, stories might you discover in meeting yourslelf like this?
As an optional soundtrack for this experiment, Iām offering this jewel from : search āDo what comes naturallyā on Youtube, of follow the link to it in stories today.
