From 4 to 6 November, the 2025 edition of the FuseNet PhD Event was held at ITER. This year, we were fully booked, hosting 150 PhD students from various institutions across Europe. During the event, they had the opportunity to share their research in the form of PechaKucha presentations and poster sessions. The most outstanding presentations & posters received a prize, and this year’s winners are:
Best Overall Presentation: Alysée Khan, Vaishnavi Murugesan
Most Engaging Presentation: Alysée Khan - Design of a Fast Reciprocating Diagnostic to Characterize the Boundary Plasma in TCV
Best Looking Presentation: Vaishnavi Murugesan - Power deposition studies using calibrated ECE at Wendelstein 7-X
Best Explanation of Research: Rachele Cicioni - ELMs dynamics and NTM onset for ITER baseline scenario at TCV
Most Unique Presentation: Ethan Attwood - Working in Public Policy: Science, Strategy and Scandals
Best Overall Poster: Loes Jansen - Nuclear fusion plasma fuelling with ice pellets using a neuromorphic controller
Best Poster Design: Giulia Emma - Beam optics characterization through visible cameras in the ITER prototype negative ion source SPIDER
