We are happy to announce that the Italian translation of Module 2 of our educational materials is now available on our website!

This module is part of our series of educational materials for secondary schools. In this module, Road to Fusion, students discover the history of fusion by learning about how it all began. Starting from the discovery of the process that powers the Sun, students can learn about the many different types of experimental devices that were created to try and generate energy through magnetic confinement fusion.

You can find this module in our educational materials browser: https://fusenet.eu/education/material.

The European Teacher Day will take place in less than 4 weeks, on 10 October 2025!

The goal of the European Fusion Teacher Day is to introduce nuclear fusion to secondary school teachers throughout Europe, to discuss teaching nuclear fusion to secondary school students and to create enthusiasm for the field of fusion at the secondary education level. This event will be fully online.

The event will feature Domestic Sessions with lectures by local fusion experts on current fusion research in your area. Additionally, there will be a European Session in which new (free) educational materials will be presented, and keynote speakers will give an inside look into selected fusion facilities engaged in the international effort towards the achievement of fusion power. The whole event will be remote.

The European Session will include a virtual EPFL Tokamak tour and a virtual ITER tour. For the full programme and details, please visit our website: https://indico.fusenet.eu/event/58/overview. Here, you will also be able to find more information about your domestic session.

AI for Nuclear – A Networking Event on AI Applications in Nuclear Science and Engineering

Organized by PhD students as part of the InnoPhase project and hosted at the University of Stuttgart, AI for Nuclear is a 1.5-day event designed to bring together doctoral candidates exploring the role of artificial intelligence in nuclear research.

📆 Date: October 20–21, 2025

📍 Location: University of Stuttgart (IKE)

🔍 What to expect:
• Expert talks from AI researchers and industry leaders
• Lightning talks by fellow PhD candidates
• Poster sessions to showcase your work
• Hands-on AI workshops focused on real applications
• Networking opportunities across academia and industry

Whether you're applying AI in simulations, safety, diagnostics, or other nuclear domains—or just curious to learn—this event offers a unique space to exchange ideas and build collaborations.

🧑‍🎓 Open to PhD students (and Master’s students working on their thesis & starting their PhD soon) in nuclear-related fields across Europe and beyond.

Participation in the event is free of charge, and projects sponsored by BMFTR (Bundesministerium für ¬Forschung, Technologie und Raumfahrt) can charge travel costs to their project.

The 30th IAEA Fusion Energy Conference (FEC 2025), hosted by the China Atomic Energy Authority (CAEA) from 13 to 18 October 2025 in Chengdu, China, serves as a global platform for exchanging scientific and technical results across all fusion energy research domains, encompassing magnetic, inertial, and innovative confinement concepts, fusion technology, materials science, and commercialization pathways. The conference addresses the current transition phase in fusion energy development, facilitating knowledge transfer between public and private sectors while focusing on experimental results, theoretical advances, engineering solutions, safety protocols, socioeconomic considerations, and deployment strategies to define future research directions and accelerate progress toward practical fusion energy implementation.

A survey for FEC 2025 Early Career Poster Award has been launched for the conference participants on the event Indico site. Eligible applicants are young researchers who have completed their bachelor or equivalent degree within the last 8 years. The application window is from 17 June to 31 August. We encourage the eligible participants to apply for this award.
