Hello there đŸ€—

Spring is here to remind us that everything changes constantly, nature starts from scratch to build up it’s beauty. So can we as humans. For us, every day can be a new day. Everyday, we have the possibility to make a different choice, to start from scratch, to change a behaviour that we(!) would like to change.

Each day is here for us,
‱ to live the life that we want to live;
‱ to take care of ourselves
‱ to just be đŸ€

Remind yourself about that each single day. Note it down, put a poster on a spot you see very often, write it on your wrist, make it your phone background. Whatever works for you.

Today, I would like to invite you to reflect about what gives you joy and comfort.

Let me explain:

When we are feeling distressed, are in a crisis and/or working through difficult experiences we are so focused on that what goes wrong, that was does not work for us in our life. And that is understandable.

At the same time, it is important to rest, take breaks and do the things that give you joy, and to keep the balance in your everyday life. It will help you regain strength and motivation to keep going, and it will also give you the possibility to see changes in your behavior and feelings towards the outer world.

So I want to encourage you to reflect upon your resources. That is everything that keeps you in the here and now.

‱ Internal resources - These are all things you can give yourself that come from within, and help you soothe. For example self-talk, boundaries, spirituality, knowing how to regulate you emotions.

‱ External resources - These are all the things outside of yourself, like loving people, music, movies, objects and activities that help you soothe and relax.

It might be easier to identify the external resources, and that is okay. If you like to expand the choice of your resources, you can always experiment and discover new internal and external resources.

Be also aware of what long-term consequences your resources have. Are they negative and harmful? Do they keep you from healing and dealing with the uncomfortable feelings? Then it might be a coping mechanism. Now, that is not a bad thing. We all have coping mechanism, and they help us dealing with difficult situations. By reflecting about it, you can create awareness and create a space where thinking about change is possible (if you would like to do that).

In a world of unpredictability and ever-changing conditions that leave us all puzzled, it’s easy to feel desperate and fearful. Knowledge gives us a sense of security, so that we can prepare for what is coming. But a lack of it can make us feel hopeless. On the other side of this lies hope, which can help us maintain a good life.

Hope is a future-oriented expectation of attaining personally valued goals and relationships, and helps us to cope with difficult situations, decision-making, psycho-social adjustment, quality of life and the promotion of healing.

So, how can we change hope?

* Identify your goals (What do you wanna achieve in this difficult period?)
* Define subgoals with concrete endpoints
* Set your subgoals with an optimal level of challenge (not too easy, but not too difficult)
* Change the way you speak about yourself and your goals (use more positive statements like «I believe I can do this»)
* Make sure your goals match your personal values
* Identify what you cannot control and what you can. Accept that!
* Increase your self-care and make sure you are compassionate about your energy levels. Rest when you want to rest. You don’t need to deserve the right to rest. You have it, independent of what others say.

So good to see you here. My name is Isabella, and I have founded Helt i Livet to fullfill my life-long dream of opening my own business đŸ€©

Helt i Livet offers counselling and yoga therapy in three languages, either in person or digitally.

I have always been passionate about mental health, and I have learned that if we want to have a better mental health, we have to take responsibility for ourselves and our life.

On this journey that we call LIFE, it is so important to have someone that we can fully trust and who accepts us with everything that we are, when we open up and tell someone our most intimate thoughts.
