~Belief work~
There are a billion ways to approach healing.
You can take a cognitive approach or an emotional approach. Both works.
Most belief work focuses purely on thoughts. You can compare a belief like a table with four legs. When you do belief work you intentionally question the belief until the legs crumble and break, and the belief falls apart. You introduce a more desired belief, find a few positive examples to back up the new belief, and there you go; you have successfully done the work.
Sometimes though, the beliefs are pervasive, they are deeply embedded because you learned them at an early age, and they can’t be approached with a purely mental approach. When you FEEL like something is true, you need to address the emotion itself to help the legs of the table weaken.
A session can look like:
(1) Direct questions aimed at the belief you want to change, or the belief you want to adopt.
(2) Feelings will surface – we make room for them.
(3) I use a curious and gentle attitude to understand your feelings.
(4) I validate all the feelings. (“I tried a thousand things, nothing works, I’m sad” ---> VALIDATION, “I want to change, but I cannnnn’t!” ---> VALIDATION, or “Why do you want me to change, F**K that!!” ---> VALIDATION.
(4) More questions, soft approach, the intention is to nudge and create space for a new belief.
The session is intended to be short and sharp and gives you a chance to see what it’s like working with me. If you are interested, or have questions about the session, send an email to gunhild.archer@gmail.com
