Healthcare professionals who wish to work in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) must obtain a professional license from the relevant health authority based on the Emirate where they plan to work. Each authority regulates doctors, nurses, pharmacists, and allied health professionals within its jurisdiction.
Main Licensing Authorities in the UAE
1️⃣ Dubai Health Authority (DHA)
Governs healthcare services within the Emirate of Dubai
Required license for professionals planning to work in Dubai
Requires passing the Prometric Exam (for most professions)
2️⃣ Department of Health – Abu Dhabi (DOH)
(Formerly Health Authority Abu Dhabi – HAAD)
Regulates healthcare in Abu Dhabi and Al Ain
