# Urology Awareness Day-13 October #
Urology Awareness Day is to clarify the qualifications that define a competent urologist. In Nepal holding an MS UROLOGY, FCPS UROLOGY MCh or DNB or FRCS in Urology have undergone rigorous training and are equipped with the skills necessary to provide the best possible care for our patients. It is crucial that we communicate this to the public, ensuring they know who to turn to for their urological health needs.
Urological conditions can significantly impact the quality of life for many individuals, yet awareness around these issues remains limited. As professionals in this field, we have a responsibility to inform the public about the various urological disorders, ranging from common issues like urinary tract infections to more complex conditions such as prostate cancer or kidney stones. It is essential for patients to understand the importance of seeking timely treatment from qualified specialists.
In Nepal till date 138 urologists are registered as full members with Nepal Association of Urological Surgeons.
