Airmid L.E.

Airmid L.E. I am the owner of Airmid L.E. working as a qualified Naturopath since 2005. I am also an ACC provider. Therefore the mind should be the servant not the master.

I'm Millie and I have been a Naturopath and Registered Nurse for 20 years and I'm very experienced in many healthcare areas particularly nutrition and emotional well-being. Also an Integrative Registered Nurse for over 20 years, I use my knowledge and judgement to assess the health needs of the individual to provide care, advice and support giving balance to their health. The Health Clinic, where mind and body are treated to find whole-being wellness. Working in partnership with you to help you take control of your life again. The mind programmes the brain and the brain can not think without motor function. I treat both at Airmid. See for yourself and book an appointment to start your journey
I offer nutritional support: Nutritional support can be given by first assessing the individuals dietary intake and daily activities. Then adapting a programme to suit the individual. Well-being massage: Massage (including Trigger Point Therapy) aims to reduce pain, increase flexibility and helps relaxation to give improved sleep and aid healing. Homeobotanical remedies: Homebotanical remedies are derived from several herbs selected to treat the same conditions, signs or symptoms. They are individually made for each client then activated to release their full potential. They can be adjusted for optimum benefit. Reflexology: Reflexology is massage on the feet. It is believed that each area on the feet relates to different areas of the body and so by working on these regions it benefits other body parts. Initial consult is 90 minutes which consists of health history assessment, treatment and herbal remedy. Follow up appointments are 60 minutes.

The important relationship

The last few weeks, I have posted about how the physical body and our mind work together. They strongly influence each other.

Today I'll go further with this fact and be more specific. I'll focus on the Gut-brain connection and how we can improve our health in both areas.

This is not a new concept, people have known about and felt this link throughout time. For instance, "gut-feeling or “butterflies” in the stomach when excited.

In relation to health we can now see that what we eat, how our digestive systems work affect our mood, behaviour, stress level and cognitive functions.

The communication between our nervous system and the digestive system works both ways.
By working with the mind/brain and the gut, we can improve both areas of health.
I have experience in both these areas.

Some examples are how to manage our stress and how to improve gut health naturally.
I'd love to hear from you so you can start enjoying better health.

Worry

The last couple of weeks, I've posted about physical discomfort and the mind/body connection.

This week I'd like to share a big issue that I see regularly.
It comes under many different names worry, disquiet, agitation and anxiety.

What leads to anxiety?
Often I find overthinking can lead to worry and disquiet.

Keeping in mind the focus of the last few weeks (mind/body connection).
We know that when we are in physical discomfort, it affects our mental health. Overthinking about our situation, the possible future and problems that come with it can lead to a vicious cycle, when we're in that cycle it can easily spiral out of control.
What do we do to stop the spiral and become more grounded and calm?

This is an area that I have experience in and can help you stay in the present moment. Moving the body by walking, dancing or any exercise can take us out of our busy mind and ground us in the here and now.

I'd love to hear from you, so you can start your journey.

Harmony.

My last post was discussing physical discomfort and how it affects not only our lives but those around us.

This time I would like to remind you all about the symbiotic relationship between the body and the mind.

When we have a physical ailment whether it is general pain, headache or any health condition it impacts how we feel emotionally.

The mind can't think without the body reacting in some way.
How our body feels may dictate how we actually feel in our mood through the day.
It's a symbiotic relationship, like bees and plants. They work together in harmony and when our mind and body work together well it's a beautiful situation.

Often, this isn't the case. We struggle in both areas.

At the health clinic, I can help you find this harmony and maintain the balance between your mind and body.
I have over 20 years of experience in helping individuals who are struggling.
You are worth it.
Contact me to achieve better mind and body health for all.

Good health

What is good health?
World Health Organization (WHO) in 1948 says that it is 'a state of complete physical, mental and social well-being and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity'.

It sounds reasonable, but how do we get good health, and more importantly, how do we maintain it? Good health comes from an awareness of how to nourish our bodies, grow an alert but calm mind, and train ourselves to be flexible, strong, and aerobically fit.
It does not come in an easy-to take pill or powder because as humans we need a variety of foods that will benefit our physical and mental well-being.
If you want to become healthier and maintain that fitness, contact me and let's get started.

Balance

Is this a realistic situation or is it a myth?
After the lovely, long holiday we need to get back to work and school. The thought can be daunting. We've got into the habit of staying up later, getting up later and not having to rush.

Now it's back to routine and we can feel unsettled.
We're going from relaxation and fun to early mornings, long days and familiar fatigue.

What if there is a way to have relaxation and fun whilst returning to work or school?

If this interests you, I can help
Either contact me for an in clinic appointment or we can do an online consult.
The choice is yours.
Start the year with real balance in your life and feel the difference in all areas of it.

The mind, friend or foe.

Who is your enemy? Mind is your enemy. No one can harm you more than your own mind untamed. And who is your friend? Mind is your friend. No one can help you more than your own mind, wisely trained—not even your own mother and father. —Buddha

We're all aware of how our thoughts influence our daily lives during work, socialising, with family or whilst we're on our own.

We can be calm and alert, agitated and distracted, or anywhere in between.

How do we cultivate a calm, alert mind so we can journey through life living in the moment walking our path with others by our sides?

Sometimes thoughts intrude so much that we find ourselves paralysed. It affects our sleep, work, and relationships.

If this sounds familiar, then contact me and let me help you use the mind as a servant and not be held victim to the mind's whims and fancies.

The power of sleep.

The best bridge between despair and hope is a good night’s sleep. — E. Joseph Cossman

Many of us take it for granted until we have trouble getting to sleep or sleeping through the night, then we suffer fatigue, anxiety, anger and frustration, along with other side effects.

There is so much information on the internet about what you should do or what you shouldn't do.
It's very generic.

At the health clinic, I have years of experience in helping people like you to improve their sleep and become happier, healthier individuals.

If you sleep well and have no health issues, then that's great, but if you have issues sleeping and your health is suffering, contact me to make a great start for 2026.

Take charge of your health.

Your health is all about you.
It sounds obvious, doesn't it?
However, frequently when we see a healthcare professional we're told what we should do or stop doing or eat.
When we leave that appointment we're sometimes left annoyed or confused.

We're with our bodies and minds full-time, so shouldn't we have a say?

As a Naturopath, I work in partnership with you to help you improve and manage your health and wellbeing.

If you have concerns about your health or just want to maintain a healthy life-style, then contact me and I can help you.
Natural healthcare tailored to your needs.

Spending at Christmas

This time of year, we all tend to send more than we planned. We stretch the budget to get gifts and extra luxuries.

Also, the extra activities occupy more of our valuable time.
For me, I think I could spend less money and learn to share my time wisely.

Giving the gift of time to family, close friends and more importantly ourselves.

"Time is the most valuable thing a man can spend. "— Theophrastus

Time spent on our health and well-being allowing us to nurture the best version of ourselves. Vital when with our loved ones.

Contact me to find your vital self. The best gift for yourselves and those you care about.
