I'm Millie and I have been a Naturopath and Registered Nurse for 20 years and I'm very experienced in many healthcare areas particularly nutrition and emotional well-being. Also an Integrative Registered Nurse for over 20 years, I use my knowledge and judgement to assess the health needs of the individual to provide care, adv

ice and support giving balance to their health. The Health Clinic, where mind and body are treated to find whole-being wellness. Working in partnership with you to help you take control of your life again. The mind programmes the brain and the brain can not think without motor function. I treat both at Airmid. See for yourself and book an appointment to start your journey
I offer nutritional support: Nutritional support can be given by first assessing the individuals dietary intake and daily activities. Then adapting a programme to suit the individual. Well-being massage: Massage (including Trigger Point Therapy) aims to reduce pain, increase flexibility and helps relaxation to give improved sleep and aid healing. Homeobotanical remedies: Homebotanical remedies are derived from several herbs selected to treat the same conditions, signs or symptoms. They are individually made for each client then activated to release their full potential. They can be adjusted for optimum benefit. Reflexology: Reflexology is massage on the feet. It is believed that each area on the feet relates to different areas of the body and so by working on these regions it benefits other body parts. Initial consult is 90 minutes which consists of health history assessment, treatment and herbal remedy. Follow up appointments are 60 minutes.

Keep it simple

When we're stuck in a pattern that doesn't have our best interests at heart, what do we do?

Sometimes it's so difficult to get started that we just don't bother.
We might want to eat healthier, exercise more, or get more sleep. How do we start and keep going?

We have so many demands in our life that we're torn in many directions.
Self change for the better often comes low on the list.

What if there were a simple, effective and relaxing choice which would cover these main concerns?

Reflexology is massage on the feet.
It is believed that each area on the feet relates to different areas of the body, and so by working on these regions it benefits other body parts.
Which means any area of concern, including mental health, can be addressed whilst relaxing during a Reflexology treatment.

Simply contact me to arrange an appointment.
Looking forward to hearing from you.

Worries

We've all got worries in our lives, whether it is our work, family, health or worldly concerns.

We don't want to downplay any of these in an attitude of “don't worry, be happy.”
However, these concerns can wear us down and rob us of any peace of mind.

Sometimes it can paralyse us so we can't make any progress or commitment in our daily routine.

It can affect our sleep, appetite, mood, and relationships.
How do we function whilst being aware of these situations?

There are many methods that can help, such as meditation and breath work.
“The worries and stress
get me down I do confess
What can I do? Breathe”
Mary Eliza J. F. Evans.

When our minds are calm we can think clearly, react kindly and remain present.
If you're struggling and want help, please contact me, and we can work together to help you to enjoy your life.

Turning the clock back

Now that the clocks have gone back 1 hour, we can rejoice that it is lighter in the mornings; however, we have lost the light evenings, and for some of us, it means that we'll find it more difficult to go for a walk after work or dinner.
Our routine is changed, and we need time to adjust.

Sometimes we wish we could turn back the clock in real life. Go back to when we were fitter, happier, healthier, etc.

It doesn't help to live in the past, but if we want to improve our general well-being, we can. We just need some motivation.

We may have an intention in mind but need to put it into action.
If this sounds familiar and you desire to take the next step, then please contact me.
We can work together to achieve your target.

Priorities

When it comes to well-being, we often have differing priorities from those around us.
Sometimes we focus on what we want, losing weight, for example, which can benefit us in general; however, we may find that choosing an area of our health that needs attention will reap a greater reward, and by identifying the body's needs, we may also achieve our personal wants.
Our bodies talk to us regularly, but sometimes we either ignore them or fail to tune in to these subtle messages until some traumatic event stops us in our tracks, and we often say, "It came out of the blue; there was no warning!”
Occasionally we all need help with these wants and needs. If you're having difficulty with your health, then maybe it's time to seek some help.
At the health clinic, I'm here to help you help yourself. Message me; I'd love to hear from you.
Body mind health for all.

You'd be the driving force, with a professional to guide you through the process.

Asking for help.

Asking for help is a crucial skill in life. It opens doors, builds relationships, and accelerates growth." – Tony Robbins

Most of us like to be independent in all areas of our lives, however when challenges arise, and we struggle with everyday routines it would be an advantage to have assistance whether it is practicable or emotional.
How do we do this? Who do we turn to?

Some of us are fortunate enough to have family or close friends who are supportive.

What if you are someone who doesn't have this support or would rather look for someone less emotionally involved?

Finding a professional to help takes a leap of faith, or at least asking for recommendations.

This is where I can help. I'm a Naturopath and Registered Nurse with many years of experience in mind and body treatments.

Contact me through text or email and let's start your support now.

You matter and deserve good health.

The important relationship

The last few weeks, I have posted about how the physical body and our mind work together. They strongly influence each other.

Today I'll go further with this fact and be more specific. I'll focus on the Gut-brain connection and how we can improve our health in both areas.

This is not a new concept, people have known about and felt this link throughout time. For instance, "gut-feeling or “butterflies” in the stomach when excited.

In relation to health we can now see that what we eat, how our digestive systems work affect our mood, behaviour, stress level and cognitive functions.

The communication between our nervous system and the digestive system works both ways.
By working with the mind/brain and the gut, we can improve both areas of health.
I have experience in both these areas.

Some examples are how to manage our stress and how to improve gut health naturally.
I'd love to hear from you so you can start enjoying better health.

Worry

The last couple of weeks, I've posted about physical discomfort and the mind/body connection.

This week I'd like to share a big issue that I see regularly.
It comes under many different names worry, disquiet, agitation and anxiety.

What leads to anxiety?
Often I find overthinking can lead to worry and disquiet.

Keeping in mind the focus of the last few weeks (mind/body connection).
We know that when we are in physical discomfort, it affects our mental health. Overthinking about our situation, the possible future and problems that come with it can lead to a vicious cycle, when we're in that cycle it can easily spiral out of control.
What do we do to stop the spiral and become more grounded and calm?

This is an area that I have experience in and can help you stay in the present moment. Moving the body by walking, dancing or any exercise can take us out of our busy mind and ground us in the here and now.

I'd love to hear from you, so you can start your journey.

Harmony.

My last post was discussing physical discomfort and how it affects not only our lives but those around us.

This time I would like to remind you all about the symbiotic relationship between the body and the mind.

When we have a physical ailment whether it is general pain, headache or any health condition it impacts how we feel emotionally.

The mind can't think without the body reacting in some way.
How our body feels may dictate how we actually feel in our mood through the day.
It's a symbiotic relationship, like bees and plants. They work together in harmony and when our mind and body work together well it's a beautiful situation.

Often, this isn't the case. We struggle in both areas.

At the health clinic, I can help you find this harmony and maintain the balance between your mind and body.
I have over 20 years of experience in helping individuals who are struggling.
You are worth it.
Contact me to achieve better mind and body health for all.

Good health

What is good health?
World Health Organization (WHO) in 1948 says that it is 'a state of complete physical, mental and social well-being and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity'.

It sounds reasonable, but how do we get good health, and more importantly, how do we maintain it? Good health comes from an awareness of how to nourish our bodies, grow an alert but calm mind, and train ourselves to be flexible, strong, and aerobically fit.
It does not come in an easy-to take pill or powder because as humans we need a variety of foods that will benefit our physical and mental well-being.
If you want to become healthier and maintain that fitness, contact me and let's get started.

Balance

Is this a realistic situation or is it a myth?
After the lovely, long holiday we need to get back to work and school. The thought can be daunting. We've got into the habit of staying up later, getting up later and not having to rush.

Now it's back to routine and we can feel unsettled.
We're going from relaxation and fun to early mornings, long days and familiar fatigue.

What if there is a way to have relaxation and fun whilst returning to work or school?

If this interests you, I can help
Either contact me for an in clinic appointment or we can do an online consult.
The choice is yours.
Start the year with real balance in your life and feel the difference in all areas of it.
