As we begin welcoming patients into our new Remuera flagship clinic today, we gathered this morning to bless the space and mark this special milestone.

Led by members of Ngāti Whātua, the ceremony was a meaningful moment for our team and the wider community. We were honoured to unveil the gifted name for our building: Ōhinerau - an ancient name for nearby maunga (Mt Hobson), referring to the goddess of whirlwinds, Hinerau.

We’re incredibly proud to offer world-class care in this beautiful new space, marking a new chapter in patient experience.

We're excited to announce that our new purpose-built Remuera clinic will be open for patients from late August.

This flagship facility has been designed to deliver exceptional patient-centred care, with a comprehensive suite of imaging services including MRI, Ultrasound, CT, x-ray and Interventional Radiology.

In addition, we will be introducing the most advanced PET-CT and SPECT-CT in Auckland - two of the most innovative molecular imaging technologies available. This new equipment, together with our expertise in oncologic imaging and an experienced team of molecular imaging technologists, will support early diagnosis and improved patient outcomes.

We look forward to welcoming patients to our new Remuera clinic soon.

Auckland Radiology is a proud partner of Sarcoma Foundation NZ, working together to raise awareness and improve outcomes for those affected by sarcoma.

Sarcoma is a rare cancer that can affect people of all ages. Early detection is critical and radiology plays a vital role in identifying signs that may otherwise go unnoticed.

Some important signs to be aware of:
- A lump larger than a golf ball and located deep to deep fascia.
- Persistent pain, swelling, or a lump in a limb, especially in children or young adults.
- Any mass that is growing, painful, or causing night pain.

If you notice any of these signs, speak to your GP or specialist and ask about imaging. Early referral can make all the difference.

This July, we join the call to Shine Yellow, Aotearoa and stand together under the whakataukī: “He waka eke noa – we’re all in this together. 💛

Bowel cancer is the second most common cancer in New Zealand. CT Colonography is an effective first-line option for early detection.

CT Colonography (also known as virtual colonoscopy) is a fast, accurate, and less invasive alternative to traditional colonoscopy. It uses advanced 3D imaging to examine the entire colon and surrounding abdominal area — all without the need for sedation.

If you're 45 or older, experiencing bowel-related symptoms, or have a family history of colorectal cancer, talk to your GP or specialist about whether CT colonography is right for you.
