oday our Management Support team came together to celebrate Diwali, a day that reminds us of the power of light, togetherness, and new beginnings. ✨

We also had double (actually triple!) the reason to celebrate, wishing our wonderful Executive Administrator, Sue, a very happy birthday 🎉 and saying goodbye to our amazing People & Capability Operations Manager, Monre, who’s been part of our whānau for the past three years. You’ll be so missed, but we’re excited to see what your next chapter brings. 💛

Big win for Tāmaki Health!

We’re thrilled to share that last week, our Chief People & Capability Culture Officer, Lisa Ryan, and Chief Digital Officer, Sam Ranchhod, proudly accepted an award at the 2025 Oracle Partner Awards by Deloitte, held during the Oracle AI World Conference in Las Vegas.

Lisa and Sam accepted the Oracle HCM Breakthrough Award APAC Applications Service Partner on behalf of Tāmaki Health, recognising the success of our people and culture transformation and the way we’ve used technology to make our organisation stronger and more connected.

This award celebrates partners who lead the way in HR transformation using Oracle HCM Cloud, helping to create more agile, people-focused organisations.
It recognises how we’ve embraced AI-powered tools to streamline communication, simplify daily operations, and improve how we manage processes across Tāmaki Health.

A huge congratulations to Lisa, Sam, and everyone involved in driving this transformation — an outstanding achievement that highlights the innovation and teamwork across our organisation!

From her early days as a community pharmacist to leading Total Healthcare PHO, Kate Moodabe has dedicated nearly 40 years to tackling health inequities in Aotearoa. This month she was honoured with the Supreme Award at the 2025 New Zealand Primary Healthcare Awards | He Tohu Mauri Ora ProPharma, recognising her decades of ground-breaking mahi.

Kate has championed innovative community-led solutions — from bringing health checks into BBM Motivation gyms to support people disconnected from the health system, to advocating for accessible cervical screening with HPV self-tests.

She joined RNZ’s Nine to Noon this week to share why local, collaborative approaches make the biggest difference to people’s lives.

A huge congratulations to our Total Healthcare PHO general manager Kate Moodabe, who was named the ProPharma Supreme Winner at the 2025 New Zealand Primary Healthcare Awards | He Tohu Mauri Ora last weekend. The award recognises her nearly 40 years of pioneering, equity-focused work in primary healthcare 👏

At the ceremony, Kate also received the Outstanding Contribution to Health Award. Judges praised her energy, leadership and the way she’s taken healthcare into the community to make it easier for people to get the help they need.

A special mention also went to Dr David Codyre, Clinical Director of our Wellness Support Team, who was runner-up in this category.

Kate’s achievements include bringing in HPV self-testing nationwide to reduce cervical cancer deaths, and partnering with BBM Motivation to introduce GP clinics in gyms to boost health screening and support for Māori and Pasifika struggling with obesity-related issues 🏆

More than 500 people from communities across New Zealand came together at the Swaminarayan Complex in Papatoetoe a couple of weeks ago to celebrate Ranjna Patel’s appointment as a Dame Companion of the New Zealand Order of Merit by King Charles III, one of the highest honours in this year’s King’s Birthday list.

It was a special night, with Dr Kanti Patel, Prime Minister Christopher Luxon and many other leaders, dignitaries, and community supporters joining the celebration.

Adding to the proud moment, some of our own team members, who have been part of Tāmaki Health’s journey since the early days of East Tāmaki Healthcare, were also there to honour Dame Ranjna’s incredible achievement.

The event was a powerful reminder of the huge impact Dame Ranjna has made as a business leader, community champion, and philanthropist, and of the deep respect she has earned across so many walks of life.

We’re incredibly proud to share that our GM, Kate Moodabe from Total Healthcare PHO, and Dr David Codyre, our Clinical Director of Mental Health and the Wellness Support Team, have been named finalists in the CareHQ Outstanding Contribution to Health category of the 2025 New Zealand Primary Healthcare Awards He Tohu Mauri Ora 🎉🎉

With over 150 entries across the country, just 45 finalists were selected, making this a tough job for the judges. We're honoured to see two of our own recognised at this level.✨

Congratulations to all finalists! The awards night takes place on 6 September, and we can’t wait for it!

Two weeks ago we dressed up and joined the United Against Cancer fundraising night for Canteen Aotearoa.

The evening highlighted the incredible work providing emotional support to cancer patients, their families, and caregivers, and we also heard from Health Minister Hon Simeon Brown, who spoke about upcoming government projects.

It was a meaningful night that reminded us why these causes matter, and we’re grateful to have contributed in our own way 🙌

Over the weekend, our P&C recruitment team represented Tāmaki Health at GP25: Conference for General Practice at Te Pae Convention Centre in Ōtautahi Christchurch.

Across the three days, Carlos Jimenez and Juan Parra did an excellent job connecting with attendees, sharing our mission, and running a fun rugby-themed activity that sparked great conversations.

We were also proud to have Dr David Codyre, Clinical Director of Mental Health, deliver a powerful presentation on the often-overlooked links between ADHD and trauma.

We’re looking forward to being back in Christchurch mid-August for CME South.

We’re incredibly grateful to for donating Rascals Nappies to support our immunisation efforts 🙌
As part of a small trial, these nappies are being offered to families with children who aren’t fully immunised by age 2, as a way to help encourage timely immunisations and offer a bit of extra support.

Mangere Town Centre, Baird’s Road, Dawson Road, Browns Road Manurewa, and Takanini clinics have received their packs and are part of this initial phase.

Thank you for helping us care for our communities, one little one at a time 👶💉

Tamaki Health are New Zealand’s largest private healthcare provider. We own and operate over forty medical clinics throughout New Zealand covering both urgent care and General Practitioners Doctors Clinics . Each of our enrolled patients have access to all of these clinics that operate under several brands. Above is the centre where our Takanini clinic is based. We employ more than 300 doctors who typically treat over 4,000 patients each day. While we are a large business now, we began as a single practice in Otara Auckland in 1977. We haven’t forgotten those original values.
