We were proud to host the IU Kelley School of Business Physician MBA Program at our Local Doctors Ōtara 24/7 Urgent Care & GP clinic as part of their 2026 global study tour.

The group visited to learn more about how we deliver integrated urgent care and general practice in South Auckland, and to see firsthand how our teams support patients and whānau every day.

We are pleased to share that our Wellness Support Team have been reappointed as a national provider of Health Coach training for the Integrated Primary Mental Health and Addiction (IPMHA) programme and is one of two providers contracted by Health New Zealand - Te Whatu Ora.

This reappointment recognises our proven track record, with 5 years of successful national delivery and more than a decade of experience providing culturally grounded, community-led care across Aotearoa ❤️.

We’re proud to continue training Health Coaches across New Zealand, helping shape the future of primary care.

We remain strongly committed to delivering high-quality, HCANZA-accredited Health Coaches Australia and New Zealand Association, evidence-informed training that supports effective, patient-centred care.

Our first 2026 Health Coach training cohort begins on Monday, 16th February and will be led by our experienced Senior Trainer Vaishali Sumbly and Clinical Lead Juliana Lawrance.

We also want to acknowledge this incredible achievement by our Wellness Support Team. Their expertise, commitment, and collective mahi have played a huge role in this reappointment and our continued success as a national training provider.

As we wrap up the year, our leadership team wanted to share a heartfelt message of thanks ❤️
To every team across our organisation — doctors, nurses, receptionists, call centre teams, and everyone in between — this year has been one of real growth. We achieved so much, and that’s because every person contributed their part.

We should feel proud of the mahi we do every day. Supporting people across Aotearoa with genuine care is bigger than words. If you’ve ever wondered who’s behind our marketing and enrolments teams… here we are! Yesterday we got together to wrap up the year the best way we know how. It’s been a full-on one — from running campaigns across every channel to welcoming countless patients from Local Doctors and White Cross.
And of course, we couldn’t finish the day without a round of stolen santa… fingers crossed no one takes Laura’s present, or we might all be in trouble! 🎄🎁

End of Year Celebrations in Whangārei, Christchurch, and Palmerston North

A big thank you to our amazing teams from White Cross Whangārei, our Christchurch clinics, and City Doctors Palmerston North for hosting their end-of-year celebrations over the weekend.

The Whangārei team came together for a fantastic evening of great chats, good food, and plenty of fun at No. 8 Restaurant & Bar. It’s lovely to hear that everyone had an awesome time.

Meanwhile, our Christchurch team celebrated at the Curators House, making the most of a beautiful venue and great company.

Down in Palmerston North, the City Doctors team celebrated their end-of-year function in style. Dressed to impress, they enjoyed great food, plenty of laughs, and a well-deserved night out together. Thank you all for the energy, teamwork, and heart you bring every day — we’re truly grateful for everything you do for our patients and our community.

Thank you all for your hard work, dedication, and teamwork throughout the year — we truly appreciate everything you do. Here’s to a well-deserved celebration and an exciting, even brighter year ahead!

Last week at Digital Health Week in Christchurch, our CEO Lloyd shared a powerful presentation on “Life lessons from a 4-year-old cape-coloured boy growing up in apartheid South Africa for digital health innovators.”

He spoke about why digital health implementations can be challenging, reflected on our HCM Cloud journey with Oracle and Deloitte, and highlighted the principles that help make these projects succeed — adopting a commercial mindset, leaning on the right partners, and keeping hope (and a clear plan) close at hand.

Lloyd’s storytelling made the session truly memorable, and the feedback from attendees has been nothing short of inspiring. We’re proud to see his lived experiences and leadership shaping the future of digital health in Aotearoa.

Last week, our team joined Pacific healthcare partners to receive a warm thank you from Health New Zealand Pacific Health Directors and Minister of Health Simeon Brown for our collective response to the recent measles outbreak, that lifted immunisation rates amongst our pacific communities. The mahi led with a measles awareness campaign from Health NZ and was strengthened in clinics like ours, with patient outreach programmes and greater access with pop-up vaccination clinics.

Whilst Pacific immunisation rates have improved, there is still more mahi to be done before we reach the 95% needed for heard immunity. With more than 30 clinics across the motu and a deep commitment to community wellbeing, we remain focused on kōrero, education and increasing access – we’re doing what it takes, to ensure every patient gets the care they need.

We also had double (actually triple!) the reason to celebrate, wishing our wonderful Executive Administrator, Sue, a very happy birthday 🎉 and saying goodbye to our amazing People & Capability Operations Manager, Monre, who’s been part of our whānau for the past three years. You’ll be so missed, but we’re excited to see what your next chapter brings. 💛

Big win for Tāmaki Health!

We’re thrilled to share that last week, our Chief People & Capability Culture Officer, Lisa Ryan, and Chief Digital Officer, Sam Ranchhod, proudly accepted an award at the 2025 Oracle Partner Awards by Deloitte, held during the Oracle AI World Conference in Las Vegas.

Lisa and Sam accepted the Oracle HCM Breakthrough Award APAC Applications Service Partner on behalf of Tāmaki Health, recognising the success of our people and culture transformation and the way we’ve used technology to make our organisation stronger and more connected.

This award celebrates partners who lead the way in HR transformation using Oracle HCM Cloud, helping to create more agile, people-focused organisations.
It recognises how we’ve embraced AI-powered tools to streamline communication, simplify daily operations, and improve how we manage processes across Tāmaki Health.

A huge congratulations to Lisa, Sam, and everyone involved in driving this transformation — an outstanding achievement that highlights the innovation and teamwork across our organisation!

Through a mix of interactive online modules and hands-on workshops, our team have strengthened their ability to connect and provide care in ways that truly reflect Pasifika values and voices 🙌

From her early days as a community pharmacist to leading Total Healthcare PHO, Kate Moodabe has dedicated nearly 40 years to tackling health inequities in Aotearoa. This month she was honoured with the Supreme Award at the 2025 New Zealand Primary Healthcare Awards | He Tohu Mauri Ora ProPharma, recognising her decades of ground-breaking mahi.

Kate has championed innovative community-led solutions — from bringing health checks into BBM Motivation gyms to support people disconnected from the health system, to advocating for accessible cervical screening with HPV self-tests.

She joined RNZ’s Nine to Noon this week to share why local, collaborative approaches make the biggest difference to people’s lives.

We employ more than 300 doctors who typically treat over 4,000 patients each day. While we are a large business now, we began as a single practice in Otara Auckland in 1977.
