The Ironman Race consists of a 4km Swim, 180km Cycle, and a 42km Run. In ONE day. This race feels like an impossible task to me. And yet I have friends - ordinary, everyday people - who participate in this race. Their physical and mental strength blows my mind.

And yet, each of these incredible ironman athletes started in exactly the same way. With a single step. And then another. 2km runs turned into 5km runs. 5km rides became 10km rides. Step by step. Ride by ride. Swim by swim. They each paved their way to an amazing level of human endurance, starting with small goals, that turned into larger ones.

Nelson Mandela said: "It always seems impossible until it's done". Stop second-guessing yourself. Start believing in yourself. If you can't do 10 push-ups, start with one. If you don't know how to launch your business, start with creating a 1-page business plan. If you are overwhelmed with your course of study, just concentrate on making it through today.

Yesterday's "impossible" will become today's "possible" as you work each day to put one foot in front of the other. It might hurt. It might be hard. But nothing truly worth doing is easy.

It's a new week and we all have the chance to start fresh. We have the chance to push NEW boundaries and explore NEW limits. But we also have the chance to start with a step or two in the right direction, and with consistent micro-efforts, we will eventually attain our goals.
-
Seize the day. Start small. Challenge your limits - even if by the smallest increment.
