Congratulations to Els Eerdekens for becoming a Certified SpinPoi Insturctor! Els is a primary school Physical Education teacher and a fitness and wellness coach in their own studio in Belgium. Els says “In both roles, I strive for a healthy balance between body and mind, movement and enjoyment. Through my own experience with poi, I discovered its many benefits: improved coordination, focus, rhythm, body awareness, and relaxation. Congratulations to Claire Sharpe for becoming a Certified SpinPoi Instructor! Claire works at With Music In Mind, a non-profit which runs singing and exercise groups for older adults in the UK. Claire says “I was feeling super daunted before the first SpinPoi session but I quickly realised I was going to enjoy myself massively, and I really did. The course content is brilliant, just the right mix of cultural info, science, and practical examples and advice. I often come out of courses feeling like 'okay great, but for some reason I don't feel ready to actually DO this', but I've come out of this one super excited to get started! This is such a fantastic course and I'm genuinely so excited to share it with everyone!” We are so excited to have you as a SpinPoi Instructor Claire, and we can’t wait to see what you get up to spinning with your community.

My first time seeing these in person 😍 Boleadoras, or bolas, were originally used by indigenous peoples in South America such as the Tehuelche for hunting, and the Mapuche and the Inca for battle. They were later adopted by gauchos, and remain a significant cultural symbol and feature in folk dances and performances.

There is around 50 in the group. The photo is of the keen bunch who helped me to set out the poi at the start and then pack them up afterwards." ❤

Congratulations to Kevin Jorgensen for becoming a Certified SpinPoi Instructor! Kevin is a Movement Educator in a Waldorf School in Honolulu, Hawaii. He has Spacial Dynamics and Bothmer Gymnastics training, and loves circus arts and String figures. Kevin is the second Certified SpinPoi Instructor in Hawaii, and we are so pleased to welcome him to the team!
