Try something new!

When we try something new we challenge our brain and body, which allows us to see new possibilities with a fresh perspective.

Challenge yourself to try something you haven’t done before like reading a book or magazine instead of endless scrolling, listening to a podcast or maybe even journaling. All of these could help with mindfulness too.

Check out Bullet Journal for some great journaling ideas for 'Purpose Powered Productivity'.

This is a great blog post that explains why this can help you https://bulletjournal.com/blogs/bulletjournalist/5-ways-to-bullet-journal-to-benefit-your-mental-health

Today is Gumboot Friday.
https://www.iamhope.org.nz/gumbootfriday

Each year in New Zealand, between 120 and 180 young people die by su***de and it is estimated another 3500 attempt to take their own lives. While Government agencies are doing their best some young people are stuck waiting up to six months to receive the counselling they so urgently need.

I AM HOPE aims to promote positive attitudinal societal change around mental health throughout New Zealand, and fund private care and counselling for young people stuck-in-the-mud on waiting lists. They offer hope and a voice to young people in our country through various projects including school tours, practical courses such as a barber and barista course, allowing people to share their own journeys through a podcast series 'HopeCast' and much more.

You can donate and read more about I AM HOPE here https://www.iamhope.org.nz/

You can purchase items through the link below to help fund counselling sessions for Rangatahi across NZ.

The Mental Health Foundation has developed three e-learning modules aimed at supporting people managers and workplace wellbeing professionals to open up the conversation about mental health in the workplace, and support team members

The three modules are titled:
* Building trust and engagement
* Problem solving together
* Building mentally healthy workplaces

These are easily achievable modules time-wise and have great little reminders such as;

The role that work plays in mental health and wellbeing.
Everyone should have the opportunity to work, whatever their mental health.

Work provides us with things that our brains and mind need to stay healthy, including:
*Routine
*Being part of a team
