July this year, I am travelling to Turtle Island (USA) to gather with my people. Our Igorot community have travelled far and wide, and every two years, in a different country, we come together to reconnect, reweave our threads and celebrate all of who we are!

This year I’ll be sharing my music in my native dialect ‘Ibaloi’! What an honour & privilege. My dream is to ensure our language keeps living, and that our stories are kept alive through song, so the future generations can always find their way back home.

This raffle will support all ongoing costs to make this trip happen!

We are coming to Takaka! carrying the stories and songs gathered through our travels, and offering them back in an intimate, heart-led way. This Tiny Concert is a space of reconnection and remembering, a gentle return to sitting together in sound, story, and presence.

Supported by our beautiful sister Shoney, an active and loved being within your community, this gathering is held with care and familiarity. A weaving of voices, waiata, and lived experience, shared honestly and from the heart.

Tiny Concerts are intentionally intimate. They create a soft container for deep listening, where children and elders are warmly welcomed, and the whole whānau is invited to come exactly as they are. This is not about performance, it is about sharing, listening, and being together.

Pacific cacao will be lovingly prepared and offered to nourish the body and open the heart.

Bring a plate of food for shared kai!

𖧶 A voice woven from the earth & sky
We welcome Joydah Mae the Ibaloi-rooted musical sonic weaver visiting us from New Zealand, whose heartbeat song carries us into remembrance and resonance.
Her melodies emerge from ancestral threads and heartfelt journeys, inviting us to gather around the fire of sound and presence. She first fell into music holding a rustic guitar at 12, letting her journey rise through chords and ceremony, community welcome, and sacred songs.
