Justice in an unjust world… ⚖️
How do we restore balance? ⛽⚖️⚔️🫂👣
By returning to our roots, e hoa.
By remembering our ancestral knowledge.
It’s easy to say “be grateful” to someone…
Unbeknown to you, they’re still pulling knives out of their back.
While they have knoone to talk to about the truth of what they are trying to say.
While they’re cut off from what once nurtured them.
Give people time and space to express their hurt ..their anger too.
In healthy ways, hopefully.
And if not… that’s a sign, e te whānau..
they don’t know yet!!
They don’t know they’ve been sitting in the back seat of their own waka.. the mind.
When we are forced into survival mode, softness doesn’t always feel safe.
We become vigilant. Sharp. Protective.
We do what we must with what we know at the time.
We need to plan ahead for kai, for travel, for basic living.
For some of us, that’s real life.
So how do we approach difficult kōrero?
With intention.
With awareness.
With a plan that turns into action.
This is not a gentle time for everyone.
This is a time that asks for attention to detail..
How we show up, how we speak, how we carry ourselves.
Because what we put out… must find its balance.
I feel deeply for those in the whare herehere.
For those on the streets.
For those who have had no guidance, no support.
Some things people carry… they never deserved, some will never know justice. Ever.
And now ...what is not aligned is being pulled out.
Not to destroy, but to realign.
You cannot walk into the Garden of Eden carrying poison.
Sometimes that poison looks like unhealed anger.
Old wounds. Repressed emotions.
Even thoughts we feel shame around.
But everything surfacing right now has a purpose!
to be seen, to be understood, to be transformed.
We each have a role to play.
To create safer spaces.
To teach healthier ways.
To face our triggers, instead of running from them.
I'm such a let's celebrate that type of person! I encourage that fun for others too. A form of releasing pressure. I appreciate light-heartedness and humor. I empower that's who I am. I can also f**k you up, if you muck me around. That's my human side. Balance ☺️😆⚖️☯️
Accountability is not easy.
Especially when denial has been a long-time companion.
But that shadow once served a purpose.
And now…
it may be time to release it.
