Here’s something a “Calorie Calculator” won’t be able to tell you when you ask,

How do I create sustainability with this?

I respect the importance of having a point of guidance, but that needs to change at some stage - because you would have, or are about to have, some sort of adaptive change.

Either in training, and/or through the peaks and valleys we all know as - life.

And a “Calorie Calculator” will always be there to give you what it gives you, a general prescription to start your diet off in the right direction.

But it won’t tell you the way, how to map the terrain, or which paths to take.

This is something for you to discover, more importantly understand.

Asking the questions like,

How many calories do you need at this point and time?

How much Protein works best for you?

Do you feel better eating more at night or in the morning?

Does your fat content support your metabolism, cell signaling, immunity, hormone production, and absorption of many different nutrients like Vit A and D?

Again, I’m not a “Calorie Calculator” so I can’t speak for them.

But I am Human, and like you, I’m learning more and more about my personal prescription every day.

“Why jumping onto the most complex diet protocol may do more harm than good”

Yes,
Macro Splits, Meal Timing, Carb Cycling.

That’s some sexy stuff, I could sell that.

And everything I just mentioned, are good methods to follow for a diet protocol.

But they also require more attention, and even more understanding in order to be applied correctly.

That’s a long winded way of saying they are more work, which can lead to more stress and less progress.

And that might be the last thing you need when looking to create actionable change.

There is nothing wrong with looking to try and change one aspect of your current diet, and focusing on that for 2-3 weeks.

What’s the worse that can happen, you make progress, feel better, experience success?

Stating with less can lead to building more, as we all did with lifting weights at the very beginning. We did not start with heaps on the bar, we started with the bar, and the bar alone.

I find that the majority of people I work with, are unaware of how much stress actually influences their ability to be successful on a diet protocol.

Again, each case is very different to the next.

But I would rather set them up to have multiple small wins, then set them up for a big mountain which does more harm than good to try and climb.

5 small wins in the span for 4 months, does allot more than attempting 1 big win in a year.

Focus on your protein intake, track your food for 3 days, have only water when drinking fluids, eat only whole foods, be punctual with your sleep.

Best and favourite one to do, go adopt a dog. You’ll find going for walks isn’t that hard to do anymore 😉

I think Confidence beats all.

Possessing this invisible, yet non physical element within you will take you father than what can be currently viewed from your individual balcony.

Because it’s not just one thing that can only be used in one place.

Ask them out

Request that pay rise

Start the business

Buy that ticket

Take a swing, because you will miss every shot that you don’t take.

My job is strange, yet challenging, but also very clear cut. I know if I’ve done it right.

It is absolutely terrifying, doing something new for the first time.

More specifically, putting yourself in an environment where you are uninitiated, green and unknown.

Like going to the gym for the first time, it can be an intimidating process.

One of which only needs to end badly once for it to never have the opportunity to be experienced again.

Pictured here is me doing my first seminar, ever.

Never had I done one, and I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t terrified.

But I knew that in order for me to develop, as a coach and as a person - it was a step that needed to be taken.

A very uncomfortable, unpredictable, exposing step.

Lots to loose, but more to gain.

But in your minds eye, your step looks different.

Whatever that may look like.

Go take that step, you won’t regret it.

And if you need someone to help you take that step, is where I can help you. Message me on here, we can make it a good experience - a positive action.

And create Change.

When I used to compete, that’s what I’d always expect of myself. And that still sticks with me today - whatever it takes.

Because it’s not about being able to perform at your best.

I want you, to be able to perform well at your worst

“Lactic Buffer”


In its purest form, Beta-alanine is the building block of carnosine, a molecule that helps buffer acid in muscles, increasing physical performance in the 60–240 second range. Some studies have also shown that Beta-alanine can aid in lean-mass gain.

What does this mean?
Beta-alanine will help you push through lactic acid dumps in the muscles. Matt Fraser described this feeling as having a 3rd lung, but all personal anecdotes aside - studies have shown that ingesting 2-5g prior to training can help with muscular endurance. Being able to go a little bit longer before the burning sensation becomes to much to handle.

Many Pre Workout supplements have Beta-alanine already mixed in with other substances such as Caffeine and Creatine.

Though, I would suggest sourcing all 3 of these substances independently. This way you can figure out which amount of each substance you need more or less of.

Context provides the Direction of Change.

Without it, we are blindly running towards our goals. You may get there eventually, but I feel I speak for everyone when I say that getting there sooner rather than later is the preferred approach.

So we strive for Efficiency.

Protein Supplementation is an affordable way of consuming protein without using whole foods. It also comes in many forms, in order of least to most processed we have

Concentrated - Isolate - Hydrolysate

If you struggle with digestive issues. Using a Isolate or Hydrolysate brand might be better for you and easier on your stomach.

People are likely to use Concentrates, which contain a higher amount of fat and carbohydrates if they are looking to add more calories in their diet.

The difference with Isolate, is that it is slightly faster digesting (though this does not stem fact for improved recovery or muscle mass). Though, for those who are being more accurate and aware of their Carb and Fat intake (Looking to loose weight in a calorie deficit) this would be a better option than Concentrate as it would be easier to not limit your calories from whole foods to make up for the gain in your protein.

Because we also need to remember - ⚠️Whole Foods Take Priority⚠️

With Hydrolysate, because of its extensive processing, the protein chains break apart into shorter peptides - making it easily digestible and absorbed.

This however has not been proven, and in theory it makes sense - but their is little evidence suggesting it is better than Isolate

But in terms of it lacking lactose, it is considerably easier on the GI tract for some people. But overall, when it comes to palatability - it’s a Zero out of 20, which generally requires added sugar to help with consumption.

So why Supplement Protein
- Because unless you love eating meat and eggs all day long, it’s a good easy alternative. Perspective, you have 42g of protein to consume on your Macros. It’s 10:30pm, are you going to eat 250g of Chicken, or chuck 2 Scoops of whey and drink it in 2 mins. Done Son ✅
