As young female bodies mature, hormonal changes can cause pain, stress and discomfort. Often the symptoms and discomfort increase as we then transition through perimenopause and menopause.

Osteopathic treatments can target multiple organs and structural components affected by menstrual disorders. It is a holistic and gentle way to ease tension, maintain strong mobility and assist in alleviating menstrual-related discomfort.

A long weekend is not far away.

With next Friday being Canterbury Anniversary Day, we won't have as many appointments available as usual.

Along with going to the races or taking in the sights and sounds of the A & P Show, it could be a good time to book an appointment.

October 29 is World Stroke Day

This year's theme, set by the World Stroke Organization (WSO), is , highlighting the life-saving importance of knowing the signs of stroke and acting F.A.S.T.

F.A.S.T. encourages everyone to learn the signs of stroke and get immediate help: Face drooping, Arm weakness, Speech difficulties and Take action - call 111.

The sooner medical treatment begins, the lower the risk that permanent brain damage occurs. Treatments like clot-busting drugs, for example, only work in the first few hours. Every minute counts. In some cases, it means that damage can be completely reversed.

Treatments such as soft tissue and myofascial release, as well as exercise and mobilisation techniques are some of the ways that osteopathy can support people who are recovering from stroke.

Sunday 12 October is World Arthritis day.

Every year the Arthritis Foundation promotes this day to spread the word about the far-reaching impact of arthritis. Although it is one of the most common diseases in the world, there is no cure for arthritis.

Our osteopaths are trained to manage arthritis by helping to stretch and improve the mobility of affected joints, adjust your posture, and possibly advise on pain relief or natural supplements.

They may also assess your feet and posture. In severe cases, they will support applications for surgery such as hip or knee replacements, especially if the condition is affecting your ability to work or to be independent.

If you want to see if we can help call us on 03 351 8262 or book an appointment online at osteopathiccare.org
