If you've visited our office, you've probably noticed our magnificent pou whenua.

The pou whenua celebrates the life of CRC founder Te Tumu Rolleston, with intricate carvings that represent stories from Te Tumu’s whānau. As the pou sits on a strong foundation, so too do we, thanks to Te Tumu’s vision and legacy.

The CRC Friendship Group is always looking forward to their next activity, whether that's trying out a new experience or simply sharing some kai.

Our Friendship Group is exactly what it sounds like: a group of enthusiastic people ready to build enriching personal connections, and have some fun along the way.

Here are a couple of photos of previous Friendship Group activities - minigolf and harakeke weaving.

Meet our adorable therapy dogs, Mia and Louis 🐾

These two cuties are always up for pats and cuddles, and they have an incredible sense of knowing when someone needs a little extra comfort. There's nothing like some peaceful animal companionship to brighten your day.

If you're a gardener, you'll know the unique joy of planting, tending and harvesting your own veggies - it really is therapeutic!

Our gardens are beloved by our people and our team, and are carefully tended all year round.

When each crop is ready to harvest, the veggies are given to people in our residential homes, marae, and community-based services like Women’s Refuge and the Salvation Army.

We often use the whakatauki (proverb) 'He Waka Eke Noa' - 'We're all in this together.'

The literal translation is "a waka we are all in together," and to us, this means we work as a team and support each other, no matter what happens.

It doesn't matter whether our waka is going over a smooth lake or whitewater rapids; by working together and looking after each other, we'll all move forward.

Today is International Day of Happiness, and it's not just about being cheerful! International Day of Happiness recognises the importance of happiness and wellbeing as universal goals for people everywhere.

It's a reminder that there's so much more to life than career success, financial wealth, or material possessions; happiness, just by itself, is a really important goal.

Our favourite thing about happiness is how contagious it is. Take a moment to share a kind smile or cheerful hello - you might make a huge difference to someone's day.

World Day of Social Justice reminds us each year of the need to build fairer, more equitable societies.

Today shines a spotlight on social justice, but for our team it's part of everyday life. Social justice is a huge driving force for our mahi, and a topic that is incredibly meaningful to the CRC team and whānau. From small, everyday actions to wider societal change, there's so much that we can do - as a community and as individuals - to make sure that everyone in our community has equitable access to services, resources, and opportunities.
