Lost in the heart of the Peruvian Amazon, where every breath is a symphony of life and every step a journey deeper into ancient wisdom. 🌿🇵🇪

This time last year, , I’ve had the profound privilege of living among the Shipibo-Conibo people, one of the most vibrant and ancient indigenous tribes of the Amazon.

It’s been an experience that has not only connected me deeply with nature but has also completely reshaped my understanding of what it means to truly respect and live in harmony with our planet.

Learning from the Shipibo has been an incredible honor. Their profound knowledge of the rainforest, and its delicate balance is simply awe-inspiring.

They don’t just “use” the land; they are an intrinsic part of it, guardians of its secrets and keepers of traditions that honor every leaf, every river, every creature.

It’s a way of life deeply rooted in reciprocity and reverence.

This journey has been a powerful reminder that there’s so much to learn from those who have lived in tune with the Earth for generations.

Feeling incredibly grateful for these moments of deep connection, challenging perspectives, and profound growth.

🔑 The Hidden Cost of Self-Preservation

That initial, instinctive urge to lock away trauma?

That’s our body’s brilliant, short-term survival mechanism kicking in. It’s self-preservation helping us get through the unbearable moments.

And in the short term, we need that. 🙏

BUT HERE’S THE TRUTH...

You can’t leave it hidden and locked away forever. You can’t just throw away the key. 🚫

BECAUSE...

That ‘locked away’ pain will find its way out. It doesn’t dissolve. It shapeshifts. It comes back in all shapes, sizes, and forms—as anxiety, panic attacks, chronic people-pleasing, self-sabotage, anger, or sudden emotional outbursts. It becomes a shadow in your daily life.

The real strength isn’t in the locking. The real strength is in the slow, intentional process of unlocking and healing. 🔓

It’s time to gently start processing what was once too painful to touch.

Drop a 💡 if you agree that facing the past is the only way to truly secure the future.

The real survival kit isn’t on a shelf. It’s in the soul of a child. Medals collect dust. Emotional resilience is the only lifelong superpower.

Train that, not just the trophy shelf.

Awards are nice, but they’re external.

What happens when the praise stops?

The true strength is the ability to stand tall when the storm hits—that’s the wilderness within us all.

Your kid’s courage is a greater legacy than any cup.

Embracing Vulnerability: A Path to Growth

Today, I want to talk about vulnerability—not as a weakness, but as a powerful strength that connects us on our journeys.

Leading workshops has shown me that when we come together to share our struggles, we not only lighten our burdens but also inspire each other to overcome our challenges.

Whether it’s physical, mental, emotional, or spiritual hurdles, acknowledging our vulnerabilities is the first step towards healing and growth. It’s okay to feel overwhelmed sometimes—what matters is how we rise from those moments.

Remember, vulnerability is not about letting others see our weaknesses—it’s about showing our true selves and allowing our authentic connections to flourish.

Let’s embrace it and transform our challenges into stepping stones for empowerment! 🙌💖

Join me on this journey of self-discovery and healing.

Together, we can unlock our potential and support one another in becoming our best selves.

✨ The Relationship You Have with Yourself Sets the Tone for Every Other Relationship in Your Life ✨

Have you ever noticed how the way you treat yourself influences how you interact with others?

The relationship you cultivate with yourself has a profound impact on your connections with friends, family, and even strangers.

When you embrace self-love and acceptance, it allows you to extend the same compassion and understanding to those around you. 💖

Research shows that a positive self-relationship boosts emotional intelligence, enhances communication skills, and fosters healthier interactions.

According to Dr. Kristin Neff, a pioneer in self-compassion research, “Self-compassion is not a way of ignoring one’s shortcomings; it is a way of understanding them.” This understanding enables us to be more patient and empathetic with others.

🌱 Examples to Inspire You:
1. Set Boundaries: When you respect your own needs, you’re more likely to respect the needs of others, creating balanced relationships.
2. Practice Forgiveness: Just as you learn to forgive yourself for your mistakes, you’ll find it easier to forgive others.
3. Cultivate Gratitude: A daily gratitude practice can shift your perspective, helping you appreciate the positive qualities in yourself and others.

Take a moment to reflect on your relationship with yourself.

What’s one way you can show yourself kindness today?

It is a physiological fact that emotions have a lifespan. They surge like waves, they crash, and then they recede. But when you are in the middle of the storm, the water feels infinite.

If you are hurting today, I am not asking you to “look on the bright side.” I am simply asking you to wait.

Wait for the chemistry to change.
Wait for the wave to recede.
Wait for the version of you that is waiting on the other side of this feeling.

You are not your thoughts. You are the one observing them.

Stay to see what happens next.

We are fluent in “Happy,” “Sad,” and “Mad.” But what about the other 79? 📖🧠

In this clip, we dive deep into something that keeps so many of us stuck: The Emotional Binary.

We are taught to label feelings as “Good” (keep them!) or “Bad” (fix them!).

But as Brené Brown outlines in Atlas of the Heart, there are actually 82+ distinct emotions. When we limit ourselves to just “good” or “bad,” we limit our ability to process reality.

We talk about:
🎙️ Moving beyond the binary judgment of feelings.
🎙️ Why thinking about an emotion isn’t the same as feeling it.
🎙️ How to drop from your head (logic) into your body (somatic experience).

You cannot heal what you cannot name, and you cannot release what you refuse to feel in your body.

👇🏼Emotional Check-in:

Without using “Good,” “Bad,” or “Fine”—what is one specific word that describes how your body feels right now? (e.g., Tight, Expansive, Heavy, Buzzing).

Let me know below!

And have you read ‘Atlas of the Heart? Yes or No?”

🌟 Embracing Emotions: The Power of Naming and Learning

In a world that often encourages us to suppress our feelings, it’s time to reclaim our emotional vocabulary. Naming our emotions is not just a therapeutic exercise; it’s a powerful step towards understanding ourselves and turning discomfort into growth.

🧠 Research shows that labeling our emotions can significantly reduce their intensity and impact, allowing us to respond more thoughtfully rather than react impulsively.

According to a study published in Psychological Science, participants who named their emotions during a stressful situation reported feeling less emotional distress.

✨ “Emotions are not something to be ashamed of. They are the compass that guides you through life.” – Brené Brown

Learning through discomfort opens up avenues for personal development. Instead of avoiding or dismissing our feelings, we can view them as teachers. Each emotion carries valuable information about our needs, desires, and boundaries.

AND THIS! When we acknowledge and articulate our emotions, we can channel them positively. Whether it’s using anger to fuel our passions, sadness to foster empathy, or anxiety to motivate action, our feelings can serve as catalysts for change.

“The ability to name our emotions can change the way we live, work, and connect with others.” – Susan David, Emotional Agility

So next time you feel something stirring inside, take a moment to name that emotion. Allow yourself to feel it, understand it, and use it to propel you forward.

You have the emotional strength within you.
