💙 POWERFUL! 💙
November is also type 1 diabetes awareness month
Type 1 Diabetic’s make over 180 decisions a day, just to stay alive.
It’s not just insulin and numbers.
It’s math, judgment calls, alarms, and anxiety all wrapped into one constant loop of survival.
Every single thing matters, food, movement, stress, sleep, hormones, weather, emotions.
Things most people never think twice about can send a person with T1D into danger within minutes.
It’s the midnight alarms that jolt you awake.
The low that hits in the grocery store line.
The high that won’t come down no matter what you do.
It’s needles, sensors, site changes, beeps, exhaustion and still getting up to do it all again tomorrow.
There are no days off.
No “I’ll deal with it later.”
Just constant monitoring, endless math, and the quiet hope that today won’t turn into an emergency.
So if you love someone with T1D, know this,
they are fighting battles you can’t always see.
They’re balancing science and instinct, strength and fear, every single day.
It’s not just a diagnosis.
It’s courage, on repeat.
