Is AI transcription suitable for medical, legal or investigative transcription?
The short answer is no. Here’s why.
AI transcription can be useful for quick notes or rough drafts. But when accuracy actually matters, it falls short in ways that can’t be ignored. It doesn’t truly understand context.
It guesses when audio isn’t clear. It struggles with accents, multiple speakers, and technical language. And one of the biggest issues? Incorrect grammar can completely change the meaning of what’s being said.
That might not seem like a big deal, until you’re dealing with:
• Medical reports
• Legal documentation
• Workplace investigations
In these situations, every word matters. Every pause, every phrase, every detail needs to be right. Not “close enough.”
AI can miss nuance. It can misinterpret tone. It can turn a clear statement into something confusing or, worse, incorrect. That’s why human transcription is still essential for professional work.
It’s not just about typing what’s heard. It’s about understanding it.
If you’ve used AI and ended up with a transcript that doesn’t quite make sense, we can help. We’ll go through it properly, fix the wording, and make sure it reads clearly and accurately.
