Today my son got his cast off and is in a soft cast.(His hand is broken in 2 places). He gets home and goes straight outside and comes back in with 6x Kawakawa leaves . Entirely led by his wairua, his intuition and his karakia so I just roll with it. I would usually pick leaves that have been eaten. But, I trust his body knows what it needs or what he's drawn to.
We did 2 poultices and followed with a gentle mirimiri (Massage) of Tupakihi oil.
We've had alot of success using Tupakihi hinu on broken limbs before and it flourishes here in Kahungunu. Just so happens at recent Wānanga, one of the going home goodies was Tupakihi hinu 🥹☝🏼 made by our facilitators Te Pae O Niwareka & Emily Hepi.
We may be a business, but one thing I always do is go into Wānanga spaces as just a learner because there is always something to be learned and be refreshed on. 🥰
He was given 6-8 week healing time frame. We will repeat the above process most evenings while in soft casts or splints, elevate his arm alot to release and help the swelling (In an acute situation I would do hourly intervals such as straight after impact before getting plastered) I will also give him internal drops of Weleda Arnica, Pineapple Juice and teas to aid because it's not just about the injury, it's supporting his body to heal ✨️
