I’ve finally graded and written my next pattern 🎉 She’s sophisticated, oversized and has interesting construction which I think makes for a fun knit.
It can be knit in 8 ply yarn OR 4 ply held double with mohair. I’m all about this Eden Polwarth yarn at the moment ‘cause it’s super squishy soft. Pattern coming soon but I’m still keeping the details under wraps for a little longer 😉 Such a tease!

Current WIP and I’m loving this fabric. Highly motivated to finish this one so I can wear it as the weather shifts more into autumn! But also, I’m already dreaming of a cardi version.
The will be ready for testing in about a month … watch this space!

The weather just did a major seasonal flip, and I’m obsessed with my possum/merino layer! Knitting is the ultimate … Winter used to be meh, but now I get to rock cosy clothes 🎉

I like to knit the neckline as soon as possible. That way it feels like a real sweater sooner and I’m more inspired to keep knitting 😆 What about you?

Dreaming of a silver grey sweater … maybe a v-neck this time 😻
I’ve got Eden 4ply (the softest Polwarth you’ve ever seen) paired with Drops Kid-silk in “chalk”. I love the pearl vibes these two create!

I’ve been looking back through some patterns lately and the Mini Love Bomber always makes me smile. It’s such a chunky, comforting knit for little ones … soft and squishy with that simple heart motif on the back. There’s something so lovely about a pattern that stays a favorite through the years. 🧶✨

Knitting Patterns

Purl Foundry started when I couldn’t find 100% woollen knitwear in retail stores. All the sweaters were acrylic which doesn’t keep you warm and doesn’t last well. The only solution was to knit something! But it had to look as good as the retail ones.

This continues to be my driving force with every design. Value is placed on wearability, longevity and simplicity.

I’ve also got a real soft spot for beginner knitters, so I’m always looking for ways to help. That’s why each pattern has links to video tutorials and I’ve introduced “layered sizing”, which means each size within the pattern can be hidden from view, or made visible again with the click of a button. No more trying to remember which size you’re making or hunting for it amongst the numbers and brackets. So you can stay in your creative flow for longer.
