This morning at the Waikanae River… exactly what my creative soul needed.
I’ve been longing to come down here for days — the light, the water, the birds, the stillness and flow all at once. 🌿💙

Sketchbook open.
Caran d’Ache Neocolor II, Derwent Inktense, a little charcoal.
Loose marks, quick impressions, colours pulled straight from nature.

There’s something magic about creating right where the inspiration lives.
A perfect, peaceful start to the day. ✨

What an incredible afternoon ✨
Lunch with my gorgeous friend Lisa, a wander through Mahara Gallery in Waikanae, and the most uplifting, joy-filled workshop, creating mandala gift tags hosted by the incredibly talented Jordan from .

Her abstract work is absolutely captivating — colour, movement, intuition.
Feeling inspired, nourished, and creatively recharged.
Days like this fill the cup in all the best ways. 💛

Swipe to step inside my little colour-play moment today…
A beautiful bunch of flowers from a lovely client inspired some journal time experimenting with my Caran d’Ache Neocolour II crayons.

Blooms glowing in my favourite blue glass vase, 6 colour variations — soft pastels, moody shadows, bold pops, whimsical washes — each one its own tiny world.
And finally: the magic moment… adding water and watching everything bloom again.

There’s something so calming about watching colour dissolve, merge and surprise you.
A reminder that we can all shift, soften and transform — sometimes all we need is a little water and a little play. ✨💛

🌳 4-Minute Journal Challenge 🎨✨

Today’s creative play: drawing a tree scene with four layers, each made in one minute using a different art material — pencil, pastel, pen, paint… whatever called to me. 🌈 Then a 5-minute round, with the final minute to fill and finesse.

Inspired by the ever-inspiring who reminds us that creativity thrives in play, not perfection. 💫

Sometimes we just need to loosen up, breathe, and let the marks tell their own story. I needed this today. 💕
