Today is officially the first day of Summer 🌞 here in New Zealand. In TCM this relates to the season of Fire - radiant, expansive, joyful & sometimes overwhelming. 🔥

As the heart of the Fire season unfolds, we’re invited to tune into the vibrant energy that shapes this time of year.

Drawing on the wisdom of Five Element philosophy in TraditionalChineseMedicine, the Fire Element speaks to how we connect, express, feel joy, and experience emotional warmth. We explore this a d the metaphors of the Fire Element in level 4 of Touch for Health Kinesiology.

In Traditional Chinese Medicine, Fire is expressed through four meridians, each revealing a different facet of our emotional and energetic landscape:

❤️ Heart (Yin) – The Emperor
Governs Shen (consciousness), sleep, emotional stability, and communication.
Balanced: calm mind, warm presence, steady sleep.
Out of balance: anxiety, insomnia, scattered thoughts.

🍝 Small Intestine (Yang) – The Sorter
Helps us “separate pure from impure” — physically, emotionally, mentally.
Balanced: clarity + good decision-making.
Out of balance: confusion, overwhelm.
