🌿 Walking Beside Whānau: Dion’s Story

For Dion, being a Health Coach is about helping people see their own potential — and taking small steps toward freedom.
He knows real change takes time. It starts with patience, aroha, and trust. When people feel supported, not pushed, they begin to find their own strength again.

Dion once walked alongside someone who hadn’t stepped outside for years. Together they started small — quiet kōrero, short walks, little wins.

Over time, those small steps grew into bigger ones — leaving the house, walking through town, even entering a shop with confidence.

✨ “What I love is seeing people re-inspired, believing in themselves again.”

For Dion, health coaching is about restoring independence and dignity, one step at a time.

🏡 From Big Dreams to Their Own Whare 💛

A year ago, this whānau joined Whai Kāinga with a dream — to one day own their own home. It felt impossible back then.

“Everything was just ideas and big dreams before attending this workshop.”

Over five weeks, they gained the knowledge, tools, and confidence to take action. With the support of Praveen Bhati, Janet Edwards, and the Westpac team, they went unconditional the week before Matariki 2025.

Now, they’re proud homeowners — proof that with the right support, mātauranga, and determination, anything is possible. 💛

🌿 Walking Beside Whānau: Ngaire’s Story

For Ngaire, it’s always whānau first.

Every journey she takes begins with listening, understanding, and meeting people where they’re at. No two journeys are the same — and Ngaire’s mahi is about walking beside each whānau, helping them find balance, hope, and strength in their hauora journey.

She believes healing starts with genuine connection. Through kōrero, laughter, and consistency, Ngaire creates a safe space where whānau feel seen, heard, and valued.

One whānau she supported had felt stuck for years — weighed down by life’s challenges. Together they took small, achievable steps forward. Bit by bit, confidence grew, and before long, they began to dream again.

✨ For Ngaire, health coaching is about aroha, respect, and restoring belief. It’s about helping people see the strength they already carry within.

🏡 From Dream to Reality: Christy’s Whai Kāinga Journey 💛

Christy McPeak, a māmā raising her tamaiti on her own, once thought owning her own home was out of reach. After joining Whai Kāinga — a five-week homeownership programme led by Te Arawa Whānau Ora and The Mortgage Centre — that dream became her reality.

“After the first night, I realised buying our own home could actually happen.”

With guidance, mātauranga, and gentle encouragement, Christy found the clarity and confidence to take action. Just eight weeks later, she went unconditional on her very own whare — a warm, comfortable space she and her son can finally call home.

Her journey is a powerful reminder that with support, belief, and determination, dreams really can come true.

Me raupā ō ringa e ao ai ō wawata. 💪

🌿 Walking Beside Whānau: Aruhe’s Story

For Aruhe, healing begins with connection. It’s not about quick fixes — it’s about creating a space where people feel safe, seen, and heard.

She says, “For me, it’s about listening first. When people feel safe, the real kōrero begins.”

Trust grows in the small moments — sitting kanohi ki te kanohi, sharing a coffee, driving together, or simply being present. That’s where the real change starts.

Aruhe once supported someone who had carried heavy challenges for years. When they finally felt safe enough to open up, that moment of trust became the turning point for real healing.

✨ Health coaching with Aruhe is about dignity, connection, and helping whānau rediscover their strength and resilience.

🌿 Walking Beside Whānau

Sometimes whānau come to us carrying a heavy load — feeling stuck, unsure, or overwhelmed.

Preston’s mahi isn’t about telling people what to do. It’s about walking alongside them, listening, and reminding them of the strength they already have.
✨ With gentle encouragement and small steps forward, confidence grows, hope returns, and whānau begin to stand tall again.

That’s the heart of health coaching — unlocking potential, shifting perspectives, and helping whānau thrive in their own way. 💚
