Brilliant Wednesday Wisdom for any Dyslexic Thinker from Grey's Anatomy star, Patrick Dempsey.

As dyslexics, navigating a school system that measures us on our challenges and not our strengths, we're used to making mistakes. But we're also experts in picking ourselves up, dusting ourselves down and trying again. And when we find and focus on our strengths, there's no stopping us.

4 out of 5 successful dyslexics attribute their success to their Dyslexic Thinking.

Creating your reality

Creating your reality

When you intentionally focus on the good in your life, you’re quite literally reshaping your brain through neuroplasticity the process by which repeated thoughts and experiences strengthen specific neural pathways. By directing your attention toward what is safe, meaningful, and positive, you reinforce the circuits linked to reward and emotional well-being, making it easier and more natural to access those feelings over time. Just as exercise builds muscle, practices like gratitude, mindfulness, and positive affirmations build and solidify neural connections that shift your perspective, emotional patterns, and stress responses. The reverse is also true: consistently focusing on stress and negativity strengthens those pathways, training your brain to spot problems and threats more efficiently. This isn’t about denying hardship, but about consciously choosing where to place your attention so you can train your mind to see the full picture including hope, solutions, and possibility—and gradually shift your brain’s default toward resilience and optimism.

I agree it's that simple really. Just be real to your soul and we then don't waste our time being respected share and love with those that choose to like who you are.

Research has revealed that babies who hear their mothers read nursery rhymes daily during late pregnancy exhibit these calming behaviors after birth because they have formed “fetal memory traces” of the familiar sounds. This process, often referred to as fetal learning or fetal programming, allows a baby’s developing nervous system to recognize and habituate to specific auditory patterns while still in the womb.

To elaborate, by roughly 34 weeks of gestation, a fetus’ auditory system is developed enough to learn the rhythm, stress and notation (prosody) of speech. After birth, hearing these familiar patterns provides a sense of predictability and safety, which naturally lowers the baby’s stress response.

Studies have shown that when newborns hear a rhyme they were exposed to prenatally, they experience measurable slowing of the heart rate. This physiological response is interpreted by researchers as a sign of recognition and autonomic relaxation.

Prenatal exposure also appears to habituate infants to “noisy” environmental settings. Because the rhyme is a known and non-threatening stimulus, these infants are less sensitive to environmental noise that might otherwise cause them to wake up, leading to more time spent in quiet (deep) sleep.

While the rhyme itself is learned, the mother’s voice is the most powerful stimulus, traveling through her body and creating a “soothing sensory space”. This builds an early emotional connection that translates into a calmer state for the newborn.

A revolutionary new dr*g has reportedly achieved a 100% success rate in destroying cancer in every patient involved in early trials. Researchers say the treatment works by precisely targeting cancer cells while leaving healthy tissue unharmed, offering a potentially game-changing approach to cancer therapy.

Early results show rapid tumour shrinkage and complete remission in participants, sparking hope for patients with previously untreatable or aggressive cancers. Scientists emphasise that while these findings are groundbreaking, larger trials are still needed to confirm long-term safety and effectiveness.

If validated, this drug could transform oncology, providing a new, highly effective weapon against cancer. Experts urge cautious optimism but agree that this breakthrough highlights the power of modern medical research and innovative therapies to tackle some of humanity’s deadliest diseases.

🧬 Can cannabinoids help fight cancer? Science is exploring the possibility.

Researchers studying the endocannabinoid system—a network of receptors that helps regulate cell growth, immunity, and inflammation—have found intriguing evidence that cannabinoids such as THC and CBD may influence how certain cancer cells behave.

In laboratory and animal studies, these compounds have been shown to activate specific cannabinoid receptors on cancer cells, triggering apoptosis, a built-in self-destruct mechanism that causes malignant cells to die while largely sparing healthy tissue. Beyond inducing cell death, cannabinoids have also been observed to slow tumor cell division and block angiogenesis, the formation of new blood vessels that tumors rely on to grow and spread. These effects have been noted in experimental models of aggressive cancers, including those affecting the brain, breast, and lungs.

However, scientists emphasize an important caveat: cannabis is not an FDA-approved cancer treatment. Most human evidence comes from small clinical studies or supportive care settings. In current medical practice, cannabinoids are primarily used to help cancer patients manage chemotherapy-related nausea, chronic pain, appetite loss, and sleep problems.

Some early research suggests cannabinoids might enhance the effectiveness of chemotherapy or help overcome drug resistance, but cancer is highly complex. Tumors vary widely between individuals, meaning responses to cannabinoids can differ dramatically. Because of this, oncology experts strongly advise patients to discuss any cannabis use with their healthcare team to avoid harmful drug interactions or interference with proven treatments.

The science is promising—but careful clinical research is still needed before cannabinoids can be considered a reliable anti-cancer therapy.
