Kia ora e te whānau, I’m Tamsin Leigh (tauiwi-Pākehā; she/her); most folks call me Tammie :) I’ve been receiving massage since I was a baby, and giving massage for just about as long; I totally believe that healthy human touch is a human right. It is for every body.

I am lucky enough to be able offer this human touch in the form of Swedish massage at Aotearoa Embodiment Collective; a warm, beautiful space in the centre of Ōtepoti/Dunedin.

My toolkit of techniques draws on Swedish/classic massage, holistic pulsing, mirimiri/lomilomi, and yoga. My goal is not to “fix” specific ailments but rather to treat the whole person by facilitating the ‘rest and digest’ parasympathetic nervous response which allows healing to happen all by itself.

WHAT TO EXPECT:

When you arrive you'll be invited to sit down and chat about your needs, desires and boundaries for the session; for example any particularly tight muscles/areas, any health or mobility concerns related to receiving massage, and any cultural or personal preferences you have.

A 75 minute session is long enough for a full-body massage (feet, legs, hips, back, neck & shoulders, arms & hands, head & face), however, longer or shorter sessions could be available depending on time and needs. It is totally possible to co-create a sequence based on specific needs.

In Swedish massage the client lies on a massage table and is mostly undressed, covered with blankets. The therapist then moves around the table uncovering different body parts in order to massage them with oil (I use a mixture of coconut oil and Tui bee balm). At no time will your private parts be touched or exposed.

*If getting up and down from a table might be an issue for you, massage can be performed on a futon on the floor instead*

PRICING

You can choose to pay anything between $30* and $80 for a massage with me.

When deciding, consider honestly what you are able to pay and also what you are willing to pay:

$30 covers my costs (space hire, oils, laundry, Spotify subscription etc)

$40 covers my costs and pays for 30% of my time

$60 covers my costs and pays for 60% of my time

$80 covers my costs and pays for 100% of my time

If you’re really keen, $80+ pays for all of this and effectively sponsors those who can pay less; it also makes me feel really stoked and inspires me to dream and grow as a practitioner by getting massages myself and/or taking workshops etc :)

*If even $30 is beyond your ability to pay, please be in touch. I am open to time-banking and trades. We can work something out.
