Last week at the Oceania Seating Symposium (OSS), Rachel Brown (one of our Clinical Services Advisors and a registered occupational therapist) shared insights from her postgraduate research on the impacts of power wheelchairs on health and participation for people with motor neurone disease (MND).

We’re incredibly proud of Rachel and the contribution this mahi makes to evidence-informed practice - supporting people to maximise independence and participation in everyday life.

Our national repair, refurbishment and reissue programme saved ACC more than $9.4 million in 2024/25.

Refurbishing used equipment can save 70% of the cost when compared to buying new equipment. The expert teams at our Refurbishment Centres (in Hamilton, Palmerston North, and Christchurch) clean, repair, and reissue thousands of pieces of equipment each year.

We're proud of our teams helping provide the supportive, efficient rehabilitation New Zealanders deserve.

We’re excited to share that the new Equipment Maintenance App (for the ACC MRES service) has officially launched - online, on the Google Play Store, and on the Apple App Store.

This app is built for our equipment repairers (subcontractors) across Aotearoa. It allows them to look up equipment details directly using a claim or asset number. This means faster responses, clearer information, and easier repairs for customers.
