The Tao Qigong/Tai Chi courses in Oxford and in Rangiora start next week:
In Rangiora on Tuesday, 27th January at 10.30am
In Oxford on Friday, 30th January at 9.45am

Although Qigong and Tai Chi are slow and gentle and don't leave you breathless, they address the key components of fitness — muscle strength, flexibility, balance, and, to a lesser degree, aerobic conditioning.

The longest Day of the Year 2025 in New Zealand is on Monday, 22 December 2025. The Summer Solstice occurs at 04:06

Each season offers different Qigong exercises.
Tao Qigong and Summer

The feeling associated with summer and the element of fire is joy, gratitude, and love.

Regarding Chinese Medicine and Tao Qigong: The heart is associated with:
- The colour is red
- The temperature is hot
- The taste is bitter
- The corresponding organ is the small intestine
- The sense associated with the heart is the tongue (speech)
- The vessels associated with the heart are the tissues.

The motion of this fire element is upward, like a flame.

When our fire energy is balanced, joy feels like a warm, expansive feeling in our chest. We experience contentment; life is good, regardless of the circumstances. We live in harmony with ourselves, sleep peacefully, our relationships are stable, and there is much love and laughter.
