Next Yin Yoga block now up!

♡♢ Yin Yoga classes ♢♡

Yin Yoga is a quiet contemplative practice.
Restoring the body and calming the mind.
With passive, longer-held poses, Yin increases circulation, mobilizes the joints and improves flexibility.

Benefits of Yin Include:
-Calms and balances the mind and body
-Reduces stress and anxiety
-Releases fascia
-Encourages deeper relaxation
-Improves joint mobility

"The gentle traction and compression held over a long period of time helps to flush out toxins and lubricate the joints while releasing tension in the ligaments, fascia and tendons."

It's also particularly great for tapping into the parasympathetic nervous system ("rest and digest" vs. "fight or flight"), enabling a balanced energy throughout the body.

Energetically, Yin yoga improves the energy flow, enhancing the flow of chi/prana/mauri in the organs.

-If you're someone who is always on the go, have a busy mind or usually like more vigorous workouts, incorporating a regular Yin Yoga class into your routine is a great way to find balance. Rather than an alternative to more 'yang' styles of Yoga, it is the perfect complementary practice.

Seeking expressions of interest in Youth Jedi Training for Term 4!

About the Course:

A weekly meetup for youth, designed to promote communication, community, fitness and emotional wellbeing.

Aimed at ages 10-14 this course is specifically designed for our communities' younger generation, preparing them for young adulthood, giving them a firm set of practices that will set them up for navigating the potential challenges of teenage life.

Incorporating Yoga, Meditation, Non-violent Martial arts, Gymnastics, Emotional Regulation, Self Compassion and Energetic awareness.

All presented in a fun and engaging way!

About the Teachers:

Cameron is a trained Yoga Teacher and Youth Worker, Musician and Magician. Having previously worked at Kahu Youth after relocating to Wanaka in 2018, he realized the need for deeper work within the community. Helping to offer solid foundations and positive role models for our youth to gain confidence and self awareness.

Having obtained his Bachelors Degree in Psychology in 2017, Cameron has since been working in various roles facilitating physical and emotional wellbeing around the country. Cameron currently holds regular Yin Yoga classes and Teachings in Hawea and Wanaka.

A second (female) co-facilitator will also be joining us if demand and class sizes require. Further announcements on this will be made once expressions of interest in the programme have been received.

Whether you're looking for an introduction to Yoga, or a gentle practice to compliment sports, labour or office posture, Yin is the perfect companion.
A slow and restorative practice. Deeply release tensions and open up to trust and confidence.
Drop the kids at school and come and unwind in the warmth!

These are evening classes in Wanaka and will run for approximately 90 minutes.
