Hi everyone

As you may have heard we are now in a Level 3 alert and will be moving into a Level 4 alert within the next 48 hours.

Unfortunately at this stage we are just as confused as you as to what this means, what will be staying open and what this means for how we provide care before, during and after pregnancy.
We are waiting on Information from the MOH, the DHB and the NZCOM to make some decisions around how we will continue to provide care.

Please be patient with us and as soon as we have some more information and a plan with how to handle the next four weeks we will let you know ASAP.

In the meantime for the next 48 hours there will be NO face to face appts until we can get clarification around how maternity care will be provided. We will still continue to provide urgent, labour and birth care to women who need it.

Just a reminder that there is to be only 1 support person at the hospital with women in labour, NO VISITORS. Please encourage them to bring their own food as they will possibly not be allowed to come and go as they please. The staff in the unit are also under a lot of pressure at the moment too so please be considerate of this and know they will not be available to let people in and out to have a smoke.

We understand this is an unsettling time and we appreciate your patience. Please understand that we also have to look after ourselves and our families so will do our best.

Stay safe

Mill Rd Midwives.
