Thanks to the collective effort of our officers, volunteers, junior councilors, donors, and partner organizations, the BUCSSP College Student Council successfully carried out our operations to assist those affected by the typhoon.

From the packing of goods to the mobilization of donations and the actual distribution of relief packs, each step reflected the heart for service and solidarity that CSSPnians are known for.

CALL FOR DONATIONS | Relief Drive

Bagyong Opong has left many Masbateños in urgent need of help. Families have lost their homes, their belongings, and their sense of security. Now more than ever, they need us.

The BU CSSP Sociology Juniors are calling on your compassion and generosity through our donation drive. We are accepting relief goods—food, clean water, sleeping mats, blankets, hygiene kits, clothing, school supplies, toys, books, and other essentials.

𝗕𝗨 𝗔𝗗𝗩𝗜𝗦𝗢𝗥𝗬: 𝗥𝗘𝗦𝗨𝗠𝗣𝗧𝗜𝗢𝗡 𝗢𝗙 𝗖𝗟𝗔𝗦𝗦𝗘𝗦, 𝗢𝗙𝗙𝗜𝗖𝗘 𝗪𝗢𝗥𝗞

In view of the improving weather conditions, classes in all levels shall resume tomorrow, September 27, 2025. However, in consideration of students in areas affected by Tropical Storm Opong, classes on September 27–28, 2025, shall be conducted online through the asynchronous mode. Faculty members are required to submit accomplishment reports on the classes conducted during these dates.

Regular face-to-face classes in all levels will resume on Monday, September 29, 2025. Faculty members are likewise enjoined to exercise flexibility and give due consideration to students coming from provinces severely affected by Tropical Storm Opong.

The resumption of office work shall be subject to the official declaration of the Provincial Government of Albay or other duly authorized government authority.

Masbate has been severely hit by . Many homes are damaged, and there is no electricity in several areas. People need urgent help.

BU Lawôd is facilitating a donation drive for the procurement of relief goods for those affected by the typhoon. We encourage monetary donations in order for our representatives on the ground to purchase and deliver aid as soon as possible.

Severe Tropical Storm “Opong” (BUALOI) continues to move closer towards Eastern Visayas while maintaining its strength.

The center of Severe Tropical Storm 𝗢𝗽𝗼𝗻𝗴 was estimated based on all available data including those from Guiuan Doppler Weather Radar at 150 km East of Borongan City, Eastern Samar (11.6°N, 126.8°E). It has maximum sustained winds of 110 km/h near the center, gustiness of up to 135 km/h, and central pressure of 980 hPa. It is moving west northwestward at 20 km/h.
