Ang table ay buod ng mga napatunayang lifestyle at stress-reduction interventions para pababain ang blood pressure (BP). Nakabase ito sa malawak na ebidensya mula sa American College of Cardiology at American Heart Association. Layunin nitong ipakita kung gaano kalaki ang pagbaba ng systolic blood pressure (SBP) na puwedeng asahan kapag sinunod ang bawat intervention, sa mayroon o walang hypertension.

1. WEIGHT LOSS. Target: body weight o BMI. Ang pagbaba ng ≥5% ng timbang o ≥3 kg/m² sa BMI ay karaniwang nakakapagpababa ng BP ng 6–8 mm Hg kung hypertensive. Bawat 1 kg na timbang na nababawas ay katumbas ng humigit-kumulang 1 mm Hg na pagbaba. Mas malaki ang epekto sa overweight at obese individuals. Pinakamainam kung sabay sa diet at exercise.

2. HEART-HEALTHY diet (DASH diet). Nakasentro sa prutas, gulay, whole grains, low-fat dairy, at mababang saturated at total fat. Mataas sa potassium, magnesium, calcium, at fiber. Tipikal na pagbaba: 5–11 mm Hg sa hypertensive at 3–7 mm Hg sa normotensive. Mas epektibo kapag sinamahan ng weight loss o sodium restriction.
