The Mariano Marcos State University – Innovation and Technology Directorate (MMSU-InnoTech) has been recognized as a Finalist in the Facilitator/Enabler Category of the S&T Innovation in Agri-Aqua (SINAG) Awards 2025, conferred by the Department of Science and Technology – Philippine Council for Agriculture, Aquatic and Natural Resources Research and Development (DOST-PCAARRD).

The recognition was awarded during the 2025 S&T Recognition and Awarding Ceremony and the 53rd PCAARRD Founding Anniversary Celebration held at The Manila Hotel, Ermita, Manila on January 30, 2026.

The award was received on behalf of MMSU-InnoTech by Dr. Dionisio Bucao, Former Director of the Innovation and Technology Directorate, and Ms. Lei Frances E. Ribac, Chief of the Technology Business Incubation (TBI) Unit.

MMSU-InnoTech was cited for its outstanding role in advancing the region’s innovation and entrepreneurship ecosystem, particularly through its integrated services under the Food Innovation Center (FIC), Intellectual Property and Technology Management (IP-TBM) Office, and Technology Business Incubation (TBI) program. These initiatives have significantly contributed to transforming local research outputs and resources into market-ready products, strengthening intellectual property protection, and fostering technology commercialization.

The SINAG Awards is one of PCAARRD’s flagship recognition programs that honors institutions and individuals who have demonstrated excellence in promoting science, technology, and innovation in agriculture and aquaculture, contributing to inclusive growth and sustainable development.

This milestone reinforces MMSU-InnoTech’s position as a key innovation enabler in Northern Luzon and highlights its continuing mission to drive research utilization, startup development, and technology-based entrepreneurship in the agri-aqua sector.

Mariano Marcos State University’s Technology Business Incubator (MMSU TBI): Dap-ayan Dagiti Bannuar nga Ilocano is now accepting applications for new incubatees who aspire to turn their innovative ideas into thriving enterprises.

The MMSU TBI supports innovators, startups, and MSMEs across various priority sectors, including:

• Nutritious and Innovative Foods
• Sustainable Agri-Aqua Systems
• Creative and Cultural Industries
• Technology-Driven Solutions

Through its incubation program, the MMSU TBI offers a comprehensive suite of services designed to guide aspiring entrepreneurs from ideation to commercialization. These include:

• Expert mentorship and coaching
• Access to business development support
• Assistance in refining pitch decks for startup events and pitching sessions
• Use of co-working and production spaces
• Networking opportunities with investors and industry partners

Interested applicants may submit their business profiles or ideas by scanning the QR code on the official poster or by sending them directly to tbi@mmsu.edu.ph. Walk-in submissions are also accepted at the S&T Building 2, TBI Office, MMSU Campus, City of Batac, Ilocos Norte.
