MARCH 26, 2026 | Quarterly Meeting

The Sustained Health Initiative of the Philippines (SHIP) conducted its Quarterly Meeting at the Rural Health Unit – Bacon District. The session was held in the presence of Dr. Karen Nava-Garcia, District Health Officer and Infectious Disease Lead of the Sorsogon City Health Office, and Mr. Renz Robinson Alvaro, SHIP Regional Program Officer. The meeting also saw the participation of the Social Hygiene Clinic and SHIP Sorsogon Site staff.

The agenda focused on the progress of the HIV program in Sorsogon City. Specifically, the group reviewed the positive statistical feedback regarding HIV testing and outlined strategic plans for future programs, collaborations, and community activities.

To sustain this momentum, the team emphasized the critical need for consistency and proactive community engagement focusing on education, awareness, and accessible testing services.

The meeting adjourned with a collective commitment to strengthening local partnerships, ensuring that the HIV program remains a cornerstone of Sorsogon City’s public health success.
