Hi guys, here's some pieces of advice if you want to make better blends.
Blending by Perfume note
There are 3 different perfume notes
Top note- rise rapidly and evaporate, typically detected about 10 mins on skin
Middle note- heart of the blend/modifier, typically detected 10-45 mins on skin.
Base note- to anchor the aroma/core of aroma
30% Top note
50% Middle note
20% Base note
Scent group
Light
Medium
Strong
Early 1900's, smell prism was
Spicy
woody
floral
herbaceous
Citrus
Resinous
Woody- (from trees) Patchouli, Cedarwood
Herbaceous- Angelica, Clary sage, marjoram oregano
Citrus- Lemon, bergamot
Floral- Chamomile, Yasmine, rose, ylang ylang
Resinous- Frankincense, etc.
Spicy - Anise, Cardamom, Myrrh
3 oils from same group is nice for blending
Side by side in wheel 1 floral, 2 citrus or 2 herbaceous, and 2 woody.
Opposite- 3 spicy and 3 Citrus, 1 woody and 1 floral, etc.
