Today, the Provincial Government of Samar joins the nation in celebrating Deaf Awareness Week.

We were honored to have deaf children lead our flag-raising ceremony with a heartfelt performance of the National Anthem and a prayer.

After the ceremony, Ms. Mabutol, SPED Teacher, shared a short talk and taught employees 10 basic sign language words, a simple yet meaningful step toward fostering inclusivity and communication with our Deaf community.

May this inspire us to build a Samar that embraces diversity and empowers every child and family.

To celebrate Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) and Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) Awareness Month, the Samar Center for Developmental Pediatrics hosted a day of play-based and skill-building activities for children of different ages and abilities.

As we observe ADHD Awareness Month, let's challenge the myth that it's only a childhood condition.

It is absolutely vital to recognize that 𝐀𝐭𝐭𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧-𝐃𝐞𝐟𝐢𝐜𝐢𝐭/𝐇𝐲𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐃𝐢𝐬𝐨𝐫𝐝𝐞𝐫 (𝐀𝐃𝐇𝐃) 𝐢𝐬 𝐚 𝐥𝐢𝐟𝐞𝐬𝐩𝐚𝐧 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐝𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧. It doesn't disappear with age, and many people are diagnosed later in life. We must commit to providing support and acceptance across all age groups—from children, to adolescents facing transitional challenges, to young adults entering the workforce, and adults managing family life.

We celebrate the creativity, energy, passion, and unique perspectives that the ADHD mind brings to every field. Understanding and empathy are key to helping every ADHD mind thrive and share its gifts with the world.

Inspiring collaboration for children with special needs!

The Samar Center for Developmental Pediatrics had the honor of sharing our experiences and best practices with the Provincial Government of Aklan, led by Governor Joen Miraflores, together with their Board Members and delegates from PSWDO and PYDO.

Their team visited Samar for a benchmarking and knowledge-sharing activity as they plan to establish a similar center in Aklan. We’re grateful to contribute to this meaningful initiative toward inclusion and early intervention!

Selected Grade 12 students of Samar National School took part in a Career Talk led by the Samar Center for Developmental Pediatrics and Provincial PESO. The session explored careers in Occupational Therapy and Speech-Language Pathology, with PESO providing insights on career development opportunities.
