The Philippine Red Cross Western Samar Chapter successfully conducted its Occupational First Aid Training and BLS-CPR with AED last September 4โ€“5, 2025, serving a total of 8 participants (3 males and 5 females).

This training empowered participants with essential life-saving skills, focusing on how to respond effectively during emergencies both in the workplace and in daily life. Through hands-on exercises and expert instruction, attendees gained the confidence and knowledge needed to act quickly and correctly in critical situations.

At PRC Western Samar, we are committed to building a community of prepared and capable individuals. We encourage everyoneโ€”individuals, workplaces, and organizationsโ€”to take part in our trainings because being ready can make the difference between life and death. Be Red Cross ready. ๐Ÿšจ LOOK: PRC Responds to Water Shortage in Catbalogan City, Western Samar ๐Ÿšจ
Catbalogan City, Western Samar โ€” As of 8:00 PM, August 29, 2025, the Philippine Red Cross (PRC) Western Samar Chapter continues its urgent response to the ongoing water shortage affecting several barangays.
The PRC has distributed a total of 35,500 liters of safe and clean water, benefitting 1,560 individuals.
Water distribution was conducted at Guinsorongan Elementary School with 12,000 liters, Brgy. Bunuanan with 12,000 liters, Brgy. Mercedes with 4,500 liters, and Brgy. Maulong with 7,000 liters.
The Philippine Red Cross remains โ€œAlways First, Always Ready, Always Thereโ€ โ€” standing by to serve communities in need.

The Philippine Red Cross Western Samar Chapter successfully conducted a CPR Caravan last August 29, 2025, in the Municipality of Calbiga, Samar.

The activity, attended by 4Pโ€™s beneficiaries, equipped participants with essential life-saving skills in cardiopulmonary resuscitation. A total of 93 individuals (7 males and 86 females) benefited from the training, guided by our dedicated team of 5 volunteers (2 males and 3 females).

Through this initiative, the PRC continues to empower communities with knowledge and skills that can make a difference in times of emergency.

The Philippine Red Cross โ€“ Western Samar Chapter conducted a Hygiene Promotion session at Guinsorongan Elementary School, Catbalogan City, reaching a total of 165 students (96 male and 69 female).

With the dedication of our 6 mobilized personnel (4 male and 2 female), this activity aimed to strengthen awareness on the importance of proper handwashing and sanitation practices in keeping students healthy and safe.

Together with the support of school teachers and the community, we continue to inspire the youth to become advocates of hygiene and health in their own homes and surroundings.

The ๐๐ก๐ข๐ฅ๐ข๐ฉ๐ฉ๐ข๐ง๐ž ๐‘๐ž๐ ๐‚๐ซ๐จ๐ฌ๐ฌ โ€“ ๐–๐ž๐ฌ๐ญ๐ž๐ซ๐ง ๐’๐š๐ฆ๐š๐ซ ๐‚๐ก๐š๐ฉ๐ญ๐ž๐ซ proudly served during the month-long Manaragat Festival 2025 through its First Aid Station operations. Our dedicated volunteers ensured the safety and immediate medical response for festival-goers, serving a total of 31 individuals (7 males and 24 females). To carry out this mission, 33 personnel (17 males and 16 females) were mobilized, showcasing the true spirit of volunteerism and compassion.

We thank our tireless volunteers for their commitment to humanity and for proving that in every celebration, Humanity is our Festival!
